More notes for my Vampire!AU KHR fic. This is the first time I actually have pre-fic notes for any of my fics. It feels weird. It’s a new experience.
Continuing on from here.
Tsuna spends most of his time ignoring/avoiding Reborn, but they do live together now so it’s inevitable that they start spending some time together. In a rare turn of events, Reborn’s the one unsettled/annoyed by Tsuna while Tsuna’s the indulgent one silently laughing at Reborn’s efforts to ‘force’ him into running laps (when he can already run any human into the ground if he wants to) or signing up for online college classes (Tsuna compromises by taking a few math and science courses because they’re his worse subjects and he was always going to go back and muddle his way through, though perhaps later on in his very long life) or going out to find a temporary respectable job/socialize because he needs to find Guardians/Family members (which doesn’t work at all because Tsuna has no desire for coven so early on in his life).
Reborn tries to follow/track Tsuna whenever his charge disappears during the day but Tsuna is always irritatingly capable of giving him the slip, and Reborn decides that when he sees Iemitsu again, he’s going to shoot that useless sack of crap in the face for giving him such worthless information on his own son.
Tsuna of course needs to slip away to feed, and his contact/acquaintance/person-whom-he-takes-occasional-tea-with who runs his own private security firm points him towards ‘criminal herbivores’ to drain before disposing of the bodies for him. It’s a win-win since even Hibari Kyouya and his people can’t be everywhere at once, and the ones that get away are the ones Tsuna gets to hunt down. Sometimes, with the worst criminals that escape from prison, Hibari comes along on Tsuna’s hunts, beats them up himself, and then lets Tsuna at them for the final kill. Then Hibari calls in a cleanup crew before he and Tsuna goes for lunch/dinner (Hibari’s lunch/dinner anyway; Tsuna’s already eaten). It’s a strange relationship but it works for them.
After that, they part ways, Hibari back to work, Tsuna whatever he wants, though he usually takes some time to drop by Takesushi to share a friendly word with Tsuyoshi, whose son Tsuna saved way back in high school from certain death by catching him just before he hit the ground after jumping off the roof, but not before he cracked his head against one of the window ledges on the way down, putting him in a coma ever since.
Tsuna’s the only one besides Tsuyoshi who still regularly goes to the hospital to visit Yamamoto, though he doesn’t stick around for too long; the blood permeating the entire building tests his control more than he likes, less and less as he grows older but Tsuna doesn’t want to risk it, and he always makes sure he’s full before going.
Sometimes, Tsuna thinks Tsuyoshi knows something or at least suspects because the man gives him thoughtful looks on occasion, but he’s never pressed, and Tsuna doesn’t know how to bring up ‘vampires are a thing and I’d be willing to give your son the Bite and see if he survives to become a vampire if you want’ because that’s not exactly something you bring up in everyday conversation, and Yamamoto - who wanted to die before he ever really lived - might not want it.
But Tsuyoshi doesn’t ask, and Tsuna stays silent, and Yamamoto remains in a coma year after year.
Tsuna also buys a private studio across the city as soon as the whole Vongola issue invaded his life, which is a good thing because he’s pretty sure Reborn wouldn’t let him draw/paint in peace if he brought his work home, so that’s where he goes when he wants to paint and rake in some more cash.
Reborn finally manages to catch up with Tsuna during one of his dinners with Hibari, and he knows by then that spying from afar would be better than asserting his presence and flinging around demands.
He gives up on following Tsuna around for a while, and instead follows Hibari around, and while Hibari’s instincts are frighteningly good in their own right, Reborn is relieved to find that they’re nowhere near as good as Tsuna’s.
Reborn soon decides that Hibari would make a decent Cloud Guardian - strong, aloof, but already with a seemingly respectful and almost friendly bond with Tsuna.
So he brings it up with his student-who-infuriatingly-enough-can’t-really-be-called-his-student-at-this-point during one of the few times Tsuna is around long enough for a conversation, asking Tsuna how they met, how long they’ve known each other, etc, and if he could at least consider Hibari for a potential Family member should Tsuna hypothetically become Vongola Decimo.
Tsuna just shrugs and says Hibari will do whatever he wants. That they met in high school, and they’re not quite friends, but that Tsuna’s one of the handful of people that Hibari can stand to be around which is why they sometimes hang out together.
What Tsuna doesn’t say is that Tsuna interfered in a fight that would’ve ended with Hibari’s death if Tsuna hadn’t cut in because the (at the time) prefect had gotten in over his head in a turf war between several gangs, and the (then) teenager was strong but he wasn’t that strong yet, and no one’s ever been good enough or brave enough to stick around to make sure Hibari doesn’t go overboard in his ‘biting people to death’ gig.
Tsuna saved him but he had to reveal what he was in the process, and while Hibari had been angry that he had had to be saved at all, he was mostly angry at himself for not being strong enough, and in return for Tsuna’s help, Hibari has never breathed a word about Tsuna’s vampirism.
Of course, Hibari being Hibari, he did demand spars, and that was pretty much how they ‘became friends’.
"I would want to guard Namimori for as long as I can," Hibari once brings up shortly after he graduates from high school.
"Not everyone survives the Bite," Tsuna warns because they knew each other well enough by that point for Tsuna to read what Hibari isn’t saying. "It’s always fifty-fifty. And you’ll have to give up human stuff, like human food, and aging. Born vampires stop aging sometime in their late twenties to early forties. Turned vampires stop aging when they’re turned. And you’d have to have even better self-control. And there aren’t many humans who will ever be able to hurt you again, but there are human vampire hunters out there, as well as other vampires who might attack you, and other supernatural creatures too. Supernatural creatures who fight against supernatural creatures, just like how there are humans who fight against humans. Just because you get an upgrade if the Bite takes doesn’t mean you’ll be the strongest thing around."
Hibari’s eyes gleam, and because Hibari Kyouya has always known exactly what he wants from his life, he deigns to ask, “I want it. Would you turn me?”
And Tsuna thinks he would because Hibari is better these days about where to draw the line and stop. Tsuna being a vampire means that he doesn’t care that much about killing, especially since he has to kill whenever he needs to feed, but he always picks the rapists and serial killers instead of just petty thieves or minor yakuza, and unfortunately (or fortunately) on their planet, there’s never a shortage of those types of criminals.
"Technically, that would make you part of my coven," Tsuna says carefully. "But I don’t have one yet, and I’m not looking to make one now or even in the next several years. Maybe a decade or two from now though, who knows? And anyone I turned would have to stick to either animal blood or criminals only."
"Obviously," Hibari scoffs at that because he knows Tsuna as well as Tsuna knows him, not to mention Hibari has always followed his own iron-clad rules about keeping order, right up until he lost himself to bloodlust (very strong for a human too, Tsuna has to admit, which might actually mean that Hibari is already learning enough control for when he becomes a vampire because some people are just suited for that life; Hibari just might take to vampirism like a fish to water).
"But," Tsuna adds. "If you become a vampire, and once I make sure you settle into that sort of life okay, if you wanted, you could go off on your own too. I wouldn’t keep you in my coven if you didn’t want to stay."
He gets a narrow-eyed sideways look for that but all Hibari does is nod, down the last of his tea, say decidedly, “I’ll take the Bite when I turn thirty,” and then get up to return to his patrols.
And just like that, a promise is made that day, though Hibari never did tell Tsuna whether or not he’d remain in Tsuna’s coven when the time came. Not yet anyway.
And… that’s all I have so far.
My possible Vampire!AU KHR fic from an earlier post that I was talking about with kyogre-ana.
I'd try for the mafia angle then since kyogre-ana wants to overthrow the mafia route entirely.
Nana would be pretty old already being vampire and all so maybe she wants a kid to sire/raise, or she just thinks Iemitsu is pretty amusing for a human being (stupid in all the ways that matter honestly but he flatters her with flowery words and doesn't stick around for long periods of time for him to get tiring).
And I love writing teenage!Tsuna but adult!Tsuna would be interesting too so maybe he's twenty/twenty-one/moved to a different city or stayed in Namimori while his mom has taken off to other parts of the world because vampire and she likes to mingle with others of her kind too. Coven? Vampires don't need it, they can be loners too, and Tsuna doesn't have his own coven (yet?).
And Frederico (or Enrico or Massimo whoever) didn't die so everyone thought he'd be Decimo which is why Tsuna was never even considered, and over the years, Iemitsu pretty much becomes a stranger in Tsuna's mind, and when the guy shows up on his doorstep, it actually takes a while for him to remember who he is.
Another vampire prompt: Vampires can only imbibe blood from the opposite gender and those traits only manifest when they hit 17. What's more is that there is a 50:50 chance of a baby born between a Human and Vampire to be either Human or Vampire; never a mix. Tsuna, a now confident 26 year old adult, uses his eyes, voice and charm to get what he needs when he needs it, learned from his mother. (1/2)
So when he’s approached by his absentee, no-good father about the reason he was absent he has to raise an eyebrow and wonder when his life decided to get complicated so long after the mess he was when he first manifested and still learning? Vongola? The ninth has only two months to live? Last resort now Federico’s gone, Xanxus isn’t eligible and neither is Iemitsu why?! Guardians?! Oh boy. (2/2)
Hmm, well I can do a vampire!AU with vampire!Tsuna/confident!Tsuna but I don’t really go in for the opposite gender requirement thing or even manifesting only once they reach 17. Let’s just say Tsuna’s a vampire from his mom’s side, and Iemitsu never knew about his wife or son, and the Vongola don’t come for Tsuna until he’s older. That, I can write, though it might take a while for me to finish it.
Chami, Mella and I made a Switch Meme. Switch memes is when three artists trade off works in progress for the others to finish. We each began with making sketches and we traded them between each other to line. After that, we did it again except to color.
The common subject we chose to do was Chami's AU Tsunas... in particular, the Wolf, the Vampire, and the Pirate.
See the full sized parts:

Vampire AU evryone else from the tenth generation.
Gokudera: Human musician who is secretly also a bookworm and loves stories about everything paranormal. He accidentaly meets Tsuna when his cart breaks close to his castle. Whe he first arrives ask for permision to stay the night and Tsuna lets him, but being the curios being he is Gokudera ends exploring the castle and finds the library, and of course finds everything about Tsuna. Tsuna then gives him an option, either stay there and work for him keeping the secret or trying to scape, of course he would be killed before he can even get out of the castle. Gokudera quickly agrees to work for Tsuna.
Yamamoto: Another everyday human, a gunsmith actually, who in one of his travels to deliver a special weapon is stoped by some robbers, he tries to defend himself but cant and ends running away into the forest, he falls down a hill and only survives holding onto a branch. He is about to give up when Tsuna appears and stares down at him, Yamamoto asks for help but Tsuna is indicesive because he has already took a human bein under his care and doesnt really want anyone else but when Yamamoto is about to fall down he ends giving up and rescues him. Yamamoto pleas his loyalty to Tsuna and goes back with him tot he castle, where Gokudera is not too happy there's someone else there with him and his boss.
Ryohei: Merchant who works from town to town with his younger sister Kyoko, when they arrive at the town closer to Tsuna's castle they hear the rumors about the rich young boy livign alone in the castle. Ryohei thinks it would be a good oportunity to seel something and takes them to the castle, even if Kyoko at first is not sure about it. When they arrive and only find the young head of the family and the two teens living with him Ryohei gets extremely worried about them and being the older of the group decides he's staying there to take care of them. even if no one really asked him for it.
Hibari: Vampire hunter who doesn't hunt unless the vampire's are causing problems with the humans. He only find Tsuna by luck and at first didnt really care for him because he doesnt care for weak vampires, is not after he finds out about his past that he starts to get interested in why such a strong vampire doesnt really care for hunting humans.
Mukuro and Chrome: Since this is a mythical setting I was thinking about a demon or wizard, and chrome to be his apprentice. He is trying to take the SIN from Tsuna, because it is one of the strongest magical items in the world, but for that he ends taking part of his "family".
Lambo: is just a normal kid who was abandoned by his family. He ends walking up in the forest and finds Tsuna's castle, at first Tsuna didn't want to even talk to the boy and didnt let him get inside the castle when he tried to cover himself from the rain. But it's Tsuna so he ends feeling bad for the kid and lets him inside his castle. Eventually he ends taking care of the kid as his own brother.
Still need to work on everyone else but yeah this is cool so far.
