Vampire Balls

@elrohare has me thinking about New Orleans vampire balls because of their latest fic! Always wanted to attend one.

Does Halloween or All Hallows' eve have a special traditions at MCU or significance to the students in it? Or is it more of a case by case basis.

There are a few Halloween traditions around MCU, one being  Joke Costumes, which are a chance to have fun and dress up as the most ridiculous stereotypical version of one of the creatures on campus. Offense isn’t taken, and if a demon decides your horns are really well made or they laughed or something you might get a very small present. There’s the group that always starts off as three students and ends up a whole group who sit in the library and tell scary stories. If one sounds really real and you cant tell if that costume is actually a costume, you should probably not overthink it. The werewolves usually have pack hunts. There’s usually a vampire ball and a demon ball going on. The witches and pagans celebrate Samhain.

You said before that vampires have others help them get ready for the balls. What are the balls like, or is this a closely guarded secret by those who attend?

You would likely only know what they’re like if you attended one! They are absolutely gorgeous, regal events with everyone looking their absolute best! They take place in large ballrooms decorated to look the absolute best of high society in whatever time the guest of honor or vampire running it prefers, which is frequently whenever they were alive. It is strictly invite only. If there is what appears to be a vampire ball open to anyone, or an invite comes from someone who isn’t a vampire, it’s more than likely a demon ball.
