Laughter
Thanks for the ask! hmm this is a tricky one because I don't really think of my stories as being particularly funny, but I'll answer this for the vampire plauge doctors because that one cracks me up
Laughter. What is their sense of humor, or lack thereof? (Bonus: What does their laugh sound like?)
Aleksandr: The older of the two vampires, and the mentor figure, has a very serious and unflappable air about him, and so his jokes don't even register as jokes until you think about it for a second and go "wait a minute, is he pulling my leg? Yeah yeah he's totally bullshitting me for his own amusement. You bastard, you really had me believing that you met the loch ness monster in 1532." He tells a lot of ridiculous stories about the history he's experienced and the people he's met, there's no real way to fact check these, and he delivers them all in more or less the same tone. Since the true ones tend to outweigh the silly ones, Cyryl never quite knows when he's joking around. Aleksandr thinks that keeping his apprentice guessing is the height of comedy. Also a lot of dad jokes.
He rarely laughs, so if you can get a wry smirk out of him, that's a grand achievement, and when he does, it's more of a subdued chuckle. Before he was turned, when he wasn't so sad and and weighed down by so many centuries of a million quiet heartaches, he had a deep belly hohoho kind of laugh.
Cyryl: He's a big fan of grossly exaggerating everything for comedic effect, like if he gets a scratch he'll act like he's dying (much to Aleksandr's chagrin), if he does a medical procedure correctly he'll claim to be the best doctor since Atlantis (much to Aleksandr's chagrin). He also makes a truly atrocious number of puns (much to Aleksandr's chagrin.)
He's very high energy and laughs loudly and laughs often to help himself forget the horrors he's seeing on a daily basis ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for the ask!
