Augustine in: The Butterfly

Hey there! You probably don’t know me, but I’m Augustine Fettuccine, and I’m 118 years old. I know that, right now, I should know the city better, but my father didn’t allow me get out till today. He was always saying that my fangs are not completly out yet, and I wans’t old enough, even that I know that when he was younger than me he was getting out all the time.

Anyway, when night falls, it's time for the creatures of the night to take a walk. You may already imagine, but I don't feed on humans. I prefer to drink the blood of animals and I discovered, after weeks that there is a small forest just outside the city that is great for feeding. The problem is that I spent so much time without eating that my eyes started to turn red against my will.

But this is not the important part, what matters is that on that way out, I found a small pumpkin farm and there it was full of butterflies. I even made a friend 🖤

Did you know that some species of butterflies live only a week? They spend about three months in the cocoon, but when they transform the life span of some species is extremely short. Sometimes I feel like a butterfly, discovering the world. Despite being more than a century old, I was only 18 when my father transformed me and I was adopted as a child by him, so I never had the chance to know many things. Sometimes I sit at my bedroom window and watch the humans go back and forth from their jobs as if life has not passed for them. This is interesting, they are the ones who can die at any moment, but it is I who have this enthusiasm to know everything, as if I were to die tomorrow. I think that's the meaning of life, after all, living each day as if it were the last
