"Good evening, Heath. Did you sleep well?"
"Indeed, my heart. Shall we go and wake the children?"
Mina emerges from her casket, the pains of labor waking her prematurely from her slumber. "Heathcliff!" she screams between huffs of heavy breathing. "My water broke!"
Her husband springs forth from his own casket in a panic. He rushes over to her and together they fly in bat form up to the manor's nursery.
Some hours later, Mina gives birth to a beautiful baby girl, just as Heathcliff predicted. "Elizabeth, my daughter," she whispers as she kisses Elizabeth's forehead.
"She has my eyes," Mina tells Heathcliff. Even after all this time, his preternatural ability as a seer continues to amaze her.
Big brother Renfield also comes to pay a visit to his newborn sister. "Eri!" he says in greeting, bestowing her with her very own nickname.
She softly gurgles at her sibling. Renfield decides then and there that they will be the best of friends.
It is Renfield's cake day, and he will be transitioning into his toddler years as soon as he blows out the candles.
"Are you ready, little bat?" Heathcliff asks as he brings his son over to the cake he prepared especially for this occasion.
A very pregnant Mina cheers him on. "Wooo!" she exclaims. "You can do this, Ren-kun!"
Giggling, Renfield bends forward, mimicking his father's movements. He blows out the candles, officially entering a new stage of his life.
Heathcliff puts Renfield down and moves over to Mina. "We simply cannot wait to make your acquaintance, little girl," he says while caressing his wife's belly.
"I think I've decided on a name." Mina feels her daughter kick against the light pressure of Heathcliff's hands. "I want to name her Elizabeth."
Renfield has become quite the independent young batling and has recently started pulling himself up in his own crib.
"Whoa there, little bat," Mina says as she picks her son up before he topples over. "Let's get you out of there before you hurt yourself."
Mina has entered her second trimester, and Renfield can now feel the tiny movements of his sibling in his mama's tummy. So far he seems unimpressed.
He will soon enter his toddlerhood, for which both Mina and Heathcliff are grateful. Even as vampires, two infants at once is a heavy burden.
"Hey, don't eat that, Ren-kun!" Mina giggles as she sees her son put his toy block in his mouth, biting down with his baby fangs.

Summer is almost ending, and Kashvi wonders when will they come home soon. However, the Eyes of the Watcher brought news...

Autumn has arrived, and with it, a less oppressive sun. On this particular day, Renfield wakes his parents in the late afternoon with the high-pitched cries only a soiled infant could make.
Mina flies to his aid and immediately plops him into a sudsy bath. "My stinky little Ren-kun," she sings to him as she lets droplets gently fall from her hand onto his face.
He looks at her inquisitively, a pile of bubbles atop his head. Mina's heart nearly bursts as she stares into her son's ruby eyes.
After his bath, Mina takes him downstairs to the kitchen to try some new foods. "How do we feel about pumpkin, my little bat?"
He accepts the offering without any fuss while Mina makes a face. "Well, I'm glad you like it, because Mama thinks it smells gross!"
"Actually, now that I think about it..." Mina's words trail off as she recounts the last time she felt this nauseous since becoming a vampire. "Maybe it isn't the pumpkin."
Renfield Darcy Barrow is an intense infant with a supernatural speed for achieving milestones.
In no time at all, he is sitting up, babbling, and growing like a weed.
"So you love mashed peas, but are unsure about white rice?" Mina asks him as he throws clumps of porridge onto the floor. "That is blasphemous as a Japanese person, Ren-kun."
She has taken surprisingly well to domestic life, perhaps thanks to having been a mortal so recently herself.
Heathcliff cleans Renfield's face and arms before moving him into the sitting room. "We prefer peas and potatoes, do we not, my son?"
He sets Renfield down on his playmat just as Mina finishes up in the kitchen. "Now, now, he must enjoy as much Japanese food as possible before his turning!" She nips gently at Heathcliff's cheek, brushing her fangs against the scruff of his beard as Renfield giggles in the background.
