*Yawns as she straps on her death dealer outfit and sings.* Alright, y’all ghouls, it’s time to dive into the adult horror anime Castlevania. For the record, I won’t be reviewing Seasons 1-2. My reviews here are informal and are done purely after I either complete or I have mind to write something down.So before you click please understand this post is Filled With Spoilers!

Let us begin, Season 3 does what I love about Castlevania and that is showing us the diversity of Vampires as well as different stories weaving into one. The chaos unleashed after Dracula’s death (who btw is one of my favorite misanthropic villains ever) sees a massive power vacuming forming. Previously, we had poor himbo Hector dragged off by Carmilla to her castle in Styria. Fun fact, we learn that Styria is ruled by a vampiric council of women! YUP. Lets now ignore the blatant gay of our villains Strega the vampire general of Styria and her wife (yes they are most definitely married in some vampire form headcannoning this) Morana (Styria’s administrator). The scheme their sister brings along is fairly in tune with what Hector thought Darcula was going to do. Seal humans off into a giant farm and live off the kine / livestock. Hector is a guy you just want the abuse to end for so when Lonore (the diplomat of the Council) tricks him it was interesting to see her treating him like a beloved pet. Their situation is obviously toxici as most vampiric and mortal one’s are, and to be honest once Lenore started “convince” Hector to leave with her it was a done deal. Meanwhile, Alucard’s lonely existence is ruined by twins, Sumi and Taka, who inform him of their slavery under Vampiress Lady Cho in Japan. He takes them in to train them as Monster Hunters going as far to give them access to the Belmont family vault and the foreseeable happens. This is Castlevania and, of course, the twins betray Alucard and he’s left back to his quiet existence. I really was happy to see a bisexual character as a main lead in Castlevania, though I am sad he’s just getting more misanthropic by the day. This leads us back to Sypha and Trevor our monster hunters who just botch the shit out of their attempt to save a town. Not only were the satanic monks well obviously satanic, the town’s Judge was a damn child serial killer. So, once again welcome to crapsack world and never let Castlevania think you can have nice things! If there is one guy I just adore and constantly root for it’s Isaac. Yet another Misanthropic pretty boy who like Hector is capable of shifting dead bodies into demonic monsters (Night Creatures). If you hate mankind and you just wanna root for someone Isaac is your guy. On a massive revenge scheme to kill everyone who betrayed Dracula our Forgemaster goes toe-to-toe with an evil magician and nary wins by the slice of his dagger. Overall it was a good day of watching. The first and second seasons are far stronger in storyline and I feel like season 3 lagged a lot in both Alucard and the Monster Duo stories. Isaac’s is fairly strong and the various facets of the Council of Sisters really makes me wish more worlds blended out vampire culture to this level. So if you like horror, beatiful animation and LGBT leads, check it out!
