“I hate vampires who whine about blood-drinking as if it’s that bad. You don’t have to kill the person and being a vampire means it tastes good...”
@miiwato
“...Fine. Though you’re going to need to give me specifics, because there are a lot of possible things that can cause pain like that.” It could vary based on the being in question, too, like a werewolf suffering wolfsbane poisoning compared to a basilisk who ate mongoose.
Depending on what it was, she would need to go to someone he knew or else he would need to create a potion or find a spell for it.
Subaru let go of the stone, confused for a fraction of a second about what he’d witnessed, before realizing that thing was some kind of artifact.
It was dangerous to him, though- the memories he had compromised his cover, dangerously so, and he hoped it hadn’t worked in reverse, with her getting a look into his mind.
“...The night you were attacked, right, Sera-san?”
@sorenyamashita
“...If it weren’t apparent, I’m not human.” The undead weren’t particularly liked anywhere, especially not anything that actively preyed on humans, thus his hesitance.
“And not all humans can use magic in the first place.” He crossed his arms.
@miiwato
Subaru was on the trail of that inspector, since she’d vanished without a trace. There were questions of if it was Organization related or not. Of the various police, she was one of the more competent, so her getting involved wouldn’t be too much of a surprise.
The trail had led to a hangar with some... curious protections. While he had used extended metaphors of wolves, ravens, crows, and hunting, any Organization members being inhuman was entirely incidental, even with the constant allusions to silver bullets when talking of what could take them down. Carefully, he broke in through the weakest point and crept in, only to see a purple-tinged dragon lurking inside.
“...Er, hello.” Dragons were actually quite intelligent; though the east generally treated them with more respect, while the west portrayed them as more malevolent. “Is there a reason why you’re in here?”
((In older European folklore, vampires and werewolves were tied together more. A werewolf was said in some tales to become a vampire upon death, and a vampire could shapeshift into, among other things, a wolf.
Vampires are said in those folklores to be able to shapeshift into the entities they can control. They can command wolves, rats, foxes, owls, snakes, bats, and similar beings.))

Subaru, despite usually staying in the Kudo house, did go out from time to time. Sometimes it was to keep an eye on Shiho and make sure she was safe while in the city. Sometimes it was because he needed to do something important. Other times, he was just keeping up the appearance of being a normal person.
Little had changed there since he was turned.
But, as he was heading into the Beika department store, he noticed his sister pass by. And had a momentary shock before putting on his pokerface. She smelled like a werewolf. “Hello, Sera-san.”
@omamcri
Beika, compared to the rest of Tokyo, had a very high murder rate. So, naturally, there had been a corpse found in the middle of the day. Subaru was a bit irritable, since the sun was shining through the windows and he was tired. He was maintaining his cover when he ended up involved in the case in a bookstore.
One of the employees opened up an inventory room, only for the corpse to come falling out. The police put the time of death as being within three hours of the corpse’s discovery. Anyone from that timeframe was on the list of suspects.
Not that he could tell anyone else, but the culprit was a vampire, from the blood loss and smell from the corpse. There weren’t bites- this vampire used a knife. A vampire who was long gone, from the look of it. The suspects the police had were all human.
