      SHE HAD MET THEM only a few times before – only for appearance, to greet and smile at the selfish elite, all gazing upon the tawny girl in DISGUST. and they were the only ones to see her and see nothing else but a girl. not her skin – not the frizzy curl to her head. just a woman, longing for her freedom. but it wasn’t just her – but the servants of the house, the men who opened their doors, the women who served them. they were kind to all. a side of white folk she had yet to see. 

with that little knowledge, she often wondered what their lives could be. surely those who live in RIGHTEOUSNESS are gifted by god’s rarest gifts. 

the cullens often came to mind when rosalie thought most of FREEDOM. she wondered what they would do if she ran, with all that lithe arms could carry, to the safety she imagined their HOME to be. it was a silly thought, she knew – but still a FANTASY often relived during most heart-wrenching of hours.
