“Well, considering you didn’t exactly seem nearby at the moment, of course I worried!.” Though the adrenaline from their recent hunt is slowly subsiding, getting replaced with the growing pain thrumming in her arm. This one involved taking down a vampire - & not a weak one either. Had Jace not attacked when he did, she would have worse than the deep cuts on her arm currently blossoming rubies from them. Still fresh, & deep enough that she knows stitches are going to be needed to properly heal, bringing gaze to turn about to Jace with a tension forming in her stance. “You know how to stitch someone up, right ? I think I’m gonna need them, bad.”

           "N- no one... I'm f- fine." 

Penny says looking over his shoulder at the other instinctively when he spoke to him. Shirtless you could see a fair amount of bruising on his back, and on his face, blood tricking from his busted bottom lip. And a few cut marks over his chest and stomach, which he was attempting to get to stop bleeding with his balled up, now ruined shirt.

“Okay, I wasn’t STALKING you,” she huffs. Haven didn’t want to seem like some kind of creep, but to say she HADN’T been following him would be a lie - she’d be upset too if she was in his shoes. “I was just...I dunno. Curious.” Maybe a bit BORED, too.

The turn of two centuries had left Lucy Westenra nearly the same. She may be a monster that living men feared, but she was still that kind hearted girl she had been prior to her living death. The only time she grew truly monstrous was when her hunger grew ravenous, yet she never stole someone’s life -- she had contained the beast within her. 

Smiling, the vampiress considered her words before speaking, “I hope the other fellow looks worse than this.”

        Penny would be the first to admit that he probably should have kept his thoughts to himself, just shut up and kept on trucking. Though it seemed his comment was a hail mary attempt at a conversation that didn't loop into threats and empty stenstances. The dots of blood on his neck indicating that he was not having the best of days, just one of those days that make you think it was all not worth it. The days that made you think about going home and giving up on something you spent more than half your life dreaming about. 

Blinking then, he realizes that he has left the air dead between them, so to speak. Shaking his head he reaches around to pat down his pockets, always finding he had the urge to smoke when he was nervous. It somehow calmed him down, which was a good thing considering he found himself irritable when his anxiety spikes.

          ”I don’t know... you just seem like someone who looks for things...” He indeed, is about to start rambling, nervously, not liking the LOOK the other gave him, it almost scared him. “... nevermind it... I shouldn’t have... brought it up. I just... get a feel for someone without realizing it and I just let my big mouth make me seem creepy by bringing it up...”

                                                                           ”... I just... do you have lighter?”

Usually he’s met with Theo at the door to the McMullen sibling’s door, all bright and cheerful at meeting up with her friend for whatever adventure they were going to have today. Instead however, there’s a fairly tall, dark-haired male standing before the door, arms crossed and thick brows furrowing at the sight of Jace walking up. He’s only catched glimpses of Jace in their home with Theo before - mere walk bys just to make sure neither of them were doing anything stupid. 

“She’s not here, Jace.”

The reason for her absence wasn’t quite all that truthful; from what he’s witnessed himself, on one of their hunts he had to take care of Theo from a VAMPIRE BITE, & he’s not exactly too happy at that. They might have had successful hunts then, both Theo and Jace as well as himself and Theo when they went together, but he’s beginning to notice her tendencies and behavoir have been shifting quite a bit.

     “& he’s going to get what he deserves, trust me, but not like this.” Not with how broken & bloody David seemed behind her right now, tied up to that chair and already enduring who knows what before she arrived here. Jace has CHANGED, & though he might see it for the better - it’s far from such. If he would just, turn that humanity back on, he would finally notice what was happening and be himself again. 

     For now though, she’s halting him by standing in his way, a rather lousy means of such considering how much stronger he was in comparison to her, but - that wasn’t going to stop her from keeping him actually killing David.

     “Look, I want to kill him as much as you do, but this ? You’re just showing him he was RIGHT, Jace, & you know he damn well isin’t about you.”

AT FIRST SHE SIMPLY STANDS THERE, looking to him with a rather pained expression rising on her features. She’s not going to let him know she’s nearly weeping for him, a hand rising to brush away at cheeks where she can feel the light sting of tears beginning to trail down them. How he gotten like this is obvious, and she knows just from who. There’s even the temptation to chase david down, demand reasoning’s and simply ready to fight him and WIN for Jace, but right now that was the least important thing on her mind. Right now, it felt like she needed to be here, with him – just to make sure he was ok.

“I’m. . .I’ll be right back.” There’s a hope maybe he’ll find some place to take a seat when she ventures off from the living room with swift steps, a quick rummage through her Jeep before she’s back with the known, fairly-sized med kit she always kept for wounds gained on hunts. He was going to need some form of treatment, and though she’s not exactly a nurse, she knows he won’t be keen on going to a hospital and explaining what happened there.
