I think that if Eli got sick and had to take medication that made him hallucinate I think he would be seeing his dad again taking care of him, but it’s actually the other team members including the HC members that are taking care of him. And Eli’s keeps telling his imaginary dad that he feels like he’s not doing enough to protect Slugterra and he’s scared of losing everyone because of it. How would everyone plus the HC and Blight react to this?

Honestly, I feel like the Gang + the HC gang, (including Blite) and feeling, the feels-

Like Eli dose, for the most part, a fairly good job putting up a front for everyone. To look like he's the Shane, and the leader they think his/can be.

So them hearing Eli, in his delirium, say he's not good enough is crushing.

Dana, and Stocker, have to sit down and just, think about how they treated Eli when they first met. Stocker in particular, starts feeling more guilty about what happened during the Enigmo hunt.

Mario, Pronto and Gent are in the kitchen, trying(and failing) to decided on what exactly they should give the Shane, to keep his strength up. They do not wanna think about the self deprecation Eli is spewing, and chose to believe it's just the fever talking. Tho Gent knows better. He's going to call a therapist, because shadows this kid has self worth issues-

Trixie, Kord, and Vance (+ Junjie if he's there) are just tyring to take care of their friend, and telling Eli, he is good enough, when he starts his muttering.

and no the Gang do not cry when Eli call's out of his dad-

Blite is not having a good time. he is not an emotions guy. sure he cares about Eli. but this is too much-

Like it's so easy to forget Eli is 15. he's not an adult. he's a teenager, a kid still. One who really misses his father. and while Blite, is annoyed Eli mistakes him and the others for Will Shane in his haze, Blite and the others can understand.

at one point, they where all that kid who were hurt, scared and sick, calling for their mom or dad to comfort them.

A Bigger Shane Gang Au

I had this idea a while ago and since I’m probably not gonna write it, I thought I’d post it anyway because there isn’t enough Slugterra stuff around.

In this au, when Eli offered certain people a place in the Shane gang, they accepted instead of turning him down (characters in order of joining)

Vance Bolt

Joined in season 1 episode 6 after The Slug Run

The Shane Gang taught him how to slugsling and he taught them some mech tricks

His main slug is the crystalyd, Eli let him have it because he did win it

His mecha would still be the horse, but with blue lights instead of red

Him and Kord could get along well while talking about mecha upgrades

Mario Bravado

Joined in season 1 episode 10 after they broke Pronto out of prison

He was reluctant at first, but Eli convinced him to use his slinging skills in a way to get back at Blakk

His main slug would still be Ricochet (his speed stinger)

His mecha would be the horse mecha he had when preforming

Because of their previous fame, Vance and himself would be more popular than the Shane Gang until they did a bit more

I think him and Vance would have known each other from beforehand, whether they were friends or not idk

He would probably get along with Trixie the best, because Mario was a star and Trixie is a ‘director’

Dana Por

Dana’s case is a bit different than the others, because she joined season 1 episode 23, after her ‘death’

She needs to keep a low profile, so she would have to have a alias for a while until she would be inevitably revealed

Her main slug would be her arachnet

Her mecha beast would be a specialised spider mecha, maybe with some special features that allow her to climb walls

I’m not sure who she would get along best with, but Trixie and her would definitely have some kind of rivalry

Could possibly get along with Pronto?

Blite

I know Eli didn’t offer him a place in the Shane Gang, but I had an idea with him

He would join season 1 episode 24 after helping the Shane Gang with the Neurotox fog

After Pronto had accidentally announced that they were the Shane Gang, Blite went quiet, just continuing to help the Shane Gang

After all of the ghouls were cured, Blite asked to talk to Eli privately

Everyone was suspicious, but Eli went with Blite because he still had his mask

They went away to talk and Blite opened up about how during his time in the cavern of time he had a lot of time to think about many things

He explains how he still hates Will Shane, but Eli was not Will Shane, so it wasn’t his fault he was locked away for so long

He goes on to say how he doesn’t want to go back there, and he’d be willing to do anything to stay out of there

That was when Eli offered him a place in the Shane Gang, more to keep an eye on him at first

He accepted. When Eli informed the rest of the gang, they were shocked, but didn’t object (much)

Blite was still feared by most of the gang for a long time

Because of this, Eli was the one he grew closest to, since he didn’t grow up with tales of how bad he was

His main slug would still be neotox slugs, but he’d have to use them sparsely because he was slinging with a group now instead of alone

His mecha beast would be the Wolf mecha he had in the caverns of time, but fixed up by Kord

Regular Slugterrans are still scared of him, but tolerate him because he’s with the Shane Gang

His mind will slowly start to recover as well, but he still would have that twitch for a long time

I just realized something if the Shane gang plus the HC and Blight went up to the surface, like Eli wanted to show them what the surface look like,wouldn’t most of them get sunburned just for being outside?

Because if I remember correctly most of the members within the group are very pale and could easily get sunburned easily.

Also how would each member ( minus Eli)react to seeing the surface for the first time?

I feel like, at a point in the future, Eli would maybe want to show the Gang, the Extended HC Gang, and Blite, what the surface looks like once day.

yeah, Pronto and Kord are going to have to be in disguise, as previously mentioned in a previous ask about the Gang going topside.

and- yeah, because the Gang isn't used to sunlight, them getting sun burned more easy a possibility, but it will also more than likely mess with their vision as well. sure Slugterra is well lit, but the sun is a while other kind of light to adapt to. even we regular humans who are used to the sun sometimes still need a few seconds for our eyes to august to sun light, for the Cavern Dwellers is going to be a whole other thing-

I think reactions is going to vary depending on the time the end up top side, like either Night or Day.

Like if its day time, they are all in aw, and make that mistake of looking right at the sun, causing them to crumble to the floor in pain lmao.

Dana doesn't becase she is wearing those tinted glasses, and while not UV protection quality, are enough to spare her anything worse.

also, I feel like, they all kind a realize how hot it is? idk if its talked about, but Cave's tend to be more on the cool side with exceptions based on location of where they are from my understanding. So it's kind a like stabilized micro climates, and not the full force of nature that is the Surface. just a though tho, so don't take that one seriously-

after getting there bearings, and sunscreen, like;

Stocker, Gent, Trixie and Pronto are absolutely enthralled by all the new sounds, especially the birds.

I can see Trixie wanting to record everything, which leads to her camera being temporarily confiscated so she can just, enjoy the moment.

for comedic reasons, Pronto encounters Surface Mole, and is horrified to learn they are smol, blind and - "NO PRONTO YOU CANT KEEP IT AS A PET!"

Gent wants to climb a tree, so dose Dana, so Eli has to show them-

Stocker see's a dog. it's all over for him at that point.

Kord and Vance probably hear like, a care or something, and considering what Eli had told them they want to SEE A CAR. maybe watch a NASCAR race or something.

Kord already in mindful of his strength as is, but being topside kind a makes him self conscious about it.

idk why, but I see Vance acting like my brother, especially when it comes to cars and he's asking like hundreds of questions wanting to know everything. Eli has made so many apologies on his behalf-

Dana, Mario and Blite are just, taken a back by how seemingly fresh the air is? particularly Blite

Dana is in aw, and feeling bitter sweet. as this was like, one of the secrets that led to her father and Will Shane falling out. so her getting to see the surface and not her dad feels kind a, liberating, but also, sad?

Mario's just enjoying all the new sights, smells and what not.

Blite doesn't say much, he's like Mario, just enjoying everything, and feeling very privileged to even be here and trusted with the sight and knowledge. but if where talking the Uncle Blite au, he can't but feel a little cheated, sure, he dose not want to be a Shane in any capacity, but a part of him can't help but feel his life might have been different if he had been taken in by Jimmo and allowed to grow up, up here.

If it's Night time, they all kind a do nothing but stare at the sky, looking at the stars, as Eli points out constellations.

Vance Bolt stared at the message he got from Mario Bravado.

MasterShooter: VINCEEEEEENT!!!!! MasterShooter: you got like, 200-300 Gold to spare? ITS FOR A GOOD CAUSE MAN

Vance snorted, and glanced to the sleeping form on his wife next to him, the back to the screen.

EatMyDust: And what exactly is this 'Good Cause'? Because dropping a third of a grand is not something one just dose Bravado MasterShooter: Trixie messaged me a few minutes ago, It's Eli's birthday real soon EatMyDust: oh yeah I heard the kid showed up around his birthday didn't he? MasterShooter: Yeah well, Kord, Trixie and Pronto are trying to book a weekend stay at Tidepool Cavern last minute and need the extra Gold for some expenses

Vance reread that last text .

EatMyDust: Tidepool Cavern??? as in the luxury resort cavern, you have to book out MONTHS IS ADVANCE, TIDEPOOL CAVERN?????? MasterShooter: Y E A H pretty gutsy trying to book a room at one of the resorts last minute like this but they really wanna give Eli a mini vacation. And honestly kid needs it man.

Vance winced as he read that.

Yeeaahh Eli Shane had been put though the wringer, and then some. Giving him a vacation was probably the one thing that kid needed most right now. besides not like it would be that odd for a Shane to take time off, Will Shane would disappear for a few days at a time when he was still the Shane in charge, same with Jimmo Shane.

EatMyDust: Well guano man, I don't think they'll have much luck even getting a time-share even if we spot them a extra Gold. MasterShooter: I told Trixie that but they are dead set on it. There is apparently, this one room at this one place but it's way out of their usual budget.

Vance frowned at that.

MasterShooter: They really wanna make it happen. I want it to happen too, but you know how hard it is to get a reservation for that cavern, you had your wedding there! [unsent]EatMyDust: I had my wedding at an acquaintances place there, they let me rent out their vacation home

Vance paused before hitting send on that, letting the ellipsis bob. Right, he knew someone with a Vacation Home in Tidepool.

Would he be overstepping? No, right? he was just offering a potential solution to the problem, he just had to clear it with the owner first-

EatMyDust: I think I know how they can get a place to say for the weekend MasterShooter: ??? Are you for real right now ??? Please tell me you aren't yanking my chain man. EatMyDust: I'm not! Mario, I had my wedding at Tidepool, yes. But it wasn't at one of the resorts! I rented out a acquaintances vacation home. MasterShooter: THAT MINI MANSION WASN'T PART OF ANY OF THE RESORTS?! EatMyDust: NO???? Was it not clear from the fact it was in a residential block??? Or the fact most of the decor was old Poster's and other crap form the Golden Age of Entertainment Dueling???

There was a pause in the conversation, the ellipsis bubble indicating Mario was trying to formulate his response.

After a few minutes,

MasterShooter: Do you think your acquaintance well be open to renting out the Shane Gang?

Vance could feel the absolute hesitance in Mario's words through the text. And you know what- He was hesitant as well. But considering who the Vacation Home belonged to...

EatMyDust: I can make a quick all to check? EatMyDust: Give me like, five-ten minutes

Mario responded with a thumbs up, Vance got up, making sure not to disturb his wife, and entered another room to make the call.

The deice range, once, twice, thrice- and just when it looked like it was going to ring out-

"Silvana's Elite Planning, where your dream party become reality, Silvana speaking"

"Hey, Miss Silvana, it's Vance Bolt-"

"Vincent! Oh what a surprise! It's so good to hear from you- Zelia doing well?"

Vance chuckled at the older woman's enthusiasm

"Ze's good Miss Silvana, so am I"

"Good, good. How come your calling on the business line? You have my personal number"

"uh yeah- um it's because this is, kinda a business related call?"

"Oh? well get on with it then"

"Remember how you let me rent out your Son's Vacation Home in Tidepool Cavern for my wedding?"

"Yes"

"Well, it's a, uh acquaintances birthday real soon, and their friends are dead set on them having it in Tidepool Cavern. But, surprise, surprise it's impossible to get a hotel room... Would it be okay for them to rent out that same Vacation Home for the weekend?"

". . . Of course! But I have to ask, who exactly is this, acquaintance?"

"It's for Eli Shane Ma'am"

There was silence on the other end for a hot minute.

"Miss Silvana?"

"haa, i see. That boy needs a brake, doesn't he?"

Vance bit back a laugh. Good to know that even people who haven't met Eli in person can tell when the kid's running himself ragged.

"Yeah, he dose"

"Well, he's got some damn good friends who are willing to go those hoops for him like this."

"So can I pass on your info?"

"Sure. And don't worry, I'll be sure to make sure that ragtag group get's the VIP treatment."

"Thank you Miss Silvana, I'm sure they'll be happy with this"

"They better!"

Saying their good bye's, Vance hung up and messaged Mario the good news.

EatMyDust: Guess who scored a mini mansion, again! MasterShooter: NICE EatMyDust: I'll message you the owners Contact info so you can give it to Trixie. just be sure to let her know I consider this my gift to the kid. MasterShooter: Will do man! you are seriously a life saver. EatMyDust: I try. EatMyDust: speaking of gifts, what are you planning to give the kid? MasterShooter: uhh probably some free Pizza for the party? EatMyDust: wow, some ally you are MasterShooter: Shut up and send the contact info already you prick

And send it he did. Eli Shane deserved a moments rest that lasted longer than five minutes. And if doing this will help Vance Bolt was more than happy to help. Least he could do considering how much the Shane has done.

[so uh- for those who don't know Silvana is my old grandma Elf oc tied to my Fan Cavern, New Neo Cavern. She's an Elite Event Planner. Tidepool Cavern, as suggested in the short fic, is another Fan Cavern which is a play on high end vacation destinations. so think Miami. And for those following the Man-Down AU, yes, the Vacation home belongs to Mane, Silvana just has the key's to the place for now- it's whole thing- it will be brought up in part 6 lol]

With all the new Shane relative theories popping up, I think it’d be hilarious if the extended gang who don’t know about the surface start theorising that Tad is also related to Eli somehow because he’s the only one who understands Eli when he makes out of context surface jokes or slips up and says something in surface speak English

what makes that better is that, the only one's of the Extended HC gang who didn't know about the Surface where Gent and Stocker!

Vance and Mario where there for the events of A Distant Shore in the Extended HC gang au, and Eli told Dana about the Surface after she joined to avoid making the exact same mistake his dad made with Tom Por.

which leaves Gent and Stocker as the only ones who didn't know- and funny enough, they do learn about the Surface after the events of Into The Shadows.

But I very much so see the others getting in on it, just to be annoying-

so that means, for the entirety of the ItS ordeal, and while Tad is part of the Gang before going evil boy wonder, the two ex-mercenaries/bounty hunters are the only one's who don't know the full truth, leading to some laughing behind their backs, and a lot of heated questions(and some comedic accusations) after the fact when they do learn about it lmao

And Tad, accidently speaking in English and not Common(the Slugterra language) is an amazing add on, because, unlike Eli who more than likely grew up learning it, Tad probably didn't or didn't know a whole lot- so him talking in English and Eli just responding like nothing is wrong, the inside jokes and whatnot fuel the 'Tad and Eli are so related' train and I love that.

I bet Tad get's frustrated about it, and is very confused as to why, the Gang is theorizing he and Eli are somehow related till someone explains the 'joke', that apparently, a bunch of branch family members of the Shane's have just been 'showing up' or getting reviled unceremoniously.

I just thought of this since Eli is a Shane, shouldn't he be getting like kidnapped daily because of this? Or is it because the writers didn't want to scare the kids with it? And how would the Shane gang, plus the HC gang, react to this?

I don't think the writers where afraid of Eli getting kidnapped, I mean look at 'The Thrill of The Game', the whole Gang was more or less kidnapped(as luring someone to a location and then holding them hostage can be considered that to a degree).

also keep in mind this was 2012, Kaijudo ROTD(which was arguably darker in some of this themes), Ultimate Spider-man, HTTYD Rise of Berk (it had its moments), 2012 TMNT, also, Johnny Test and like, a number of other shows aired at the time which got way(debatably)darker then simplely kidnapping the main protag.

and this isn't touching Transformers Prime, because while it came out 2010 it ended 2013 and they straight up show us serval war crimes, harm to children(two instances being hunting), desecration of a corps, robot gore, and viral vampire zombie robot infection, organ robbery, robot and human murder, JUST- SIALS and literal abuse soooo when it comes to it being 'to much' the bar is low its, I wanna say after 2016-2017 when stuff got cracked down on.

and if anything, it just wouldn't make sense given Eli's character? Boy isn't going down without a fight.

Like yeah, use a Slyren or chloroform gas to knock him out, but like, I think the general idea is, 'why kidnap a Shane? seems more trouble then its worth'

Cuz like, the reason why a kidnapping occurs if usually either for a ransom, either monetary or of an object of some kind, to get information or use the victim against the hero. More or less there are like other reasons, but those tend to be the most common from what I understand.

And, again, little to no benefit to nabbing a single Shane, other then mind control reasons, and trying to pry out Shane secrets. Like if Will was around, the idea may have been entertained by Blakk or another villain more often.

With that said, in a hypothetical, situation Eli is kidnapped, It's by the Game Master, again, because it was hinted he would come back, since he wasn't caught/arrested.

and because I suck at action here's like, a little thing-

Eli would wake up in a glass cage. tube to be more accurate, like a giant slug shell. his baster is missing and his slugs are gone. and all there is, is a monitor on the other side of the glass which flickers to life, and his team, his friends- family are all just coming too on there respective screens, each one in a different room.

"wha- oh what the f- GAME MASTER!" Stocker yells, his voice a tinged by the static of the monitor and speakers.

and course of groans to cursing follow from the others realizing the Game Master had shown up yet again much to their ire.

"i- wait, hold up I can see everyone but-" Kord started squinting at something off camera Eli couldn't see.

"ELI!" the others shout. from what limited context the young Shane could gather, the others probably had monitors as well that let them see and hear each other, with the exception of himself.

"Well it seems my mice have woken up!" crackled a voice form a separate PA system. Game Master.

"Let us out of here!" Trixie demanded.

"gerr, jerk took my Shadow Walker-" Dana growled.

"COWERD!" Mario yelled

"Game Master, I swear when I get out of here-" Gent hissed.

"tisk, tisk, no need to get nasty" Game Master said, and a dormant screen flickered to life for the others, that showed Eli in his tube, and then, some water started to trickle in, slow but steady.

"... oh you gotta be kidding me" Eli muttered, lifting his foot up a little.

"Once I say so, you have eight hours to find Eli Shane, the key's to his freedom are strewn around your little labyrinth, along with his gear and slugs, tick tock, time starts now!" Gem Master said in a sing song tune as the PA cut out.

"PRONTO IS MOST OFFENDED BY THIS! HOW COME ELI GET'S CENTER STAGE!"

"This is not what I meant about team building" Vance muttered already trying to work through the puzzle in his room so he could get the door open.

"I was not aware, your Caverns had such, eccentric individuals" Junjie said flatly, pulling at a rope, unlocking his door.

"just say it like it is Junjie, Game Masters a BI-"
