True or false: The ultimate purpose of modern progressivism is the obliteration of Christianity. — Gee, I hope I remembered to click the “Anon” button!
Strongly Agree
Pretty much everything the left is doing is dedicated to eroding thousands of years of traditional Christian values. It’s seen most readily in politics and entertainment, but it’s also seen in religion as well.
The problem is, most people do not realize that many popular Christian denominations have forsaken the real gospel for the social gospel. The social gospel is basically that Jesus told us to feed the hungry and clothe the poor (both of which are good things by the way), but that’s all that matters. Nobody really needs a savior so as long as they do nice things for people.
This heresy is almost entirely exclusive to the churches who push a far left-wing political agenda (most of these denominations officially support gun control, abortion rights, gay “marriage” and socialism). Obama’s former church The United Church of Christ is probably the most glaring example, but unfortunately most other mainline denominations have this same problem.
So, yeah. If you can get the churches to forsake basic Christian teachings in the name of social progress, it’s pretty clear the ultimate goal of progressivism is to destroy Christianity.
