hello! you seem like you might know something about this, but if not, that's fine. i was just wondering if you knew what order I should read the star-lord comics? Or other comics with star-lord in them? sorry, I just don't know where to start and thought maybe you could help! Thanks :)
dude’s been all over the place tbh so i’ve compiled his appearances to the best of my knowledge using a reading list that i culled from a massive star-lord download i had a while ago (that covers all the silver age star-lord comics) and combined it with some of the recent issues. i’ve bolded the ones that i think are really, really essential so here goes:
Inhumans v3 #4 (although this is more focused on J’son, who is Peter’s father)
Marvel Preview #4, #11, #14, #15, #18 (#4 is his very first origin story)
Marvel Spotlight v2 #6, #7 (#6 gave him a new origin)
Star-Lord: The Special Edition (it’s really just a coloured version of some of the Marvel Preview issues)
these issues are collected in three convenient volumes:
Star-Lord: The Hollow Crown (collects Marvel Preview #4, Marvel Preview #11, Star-Lord: The Special Edition)
Star-Lord: Worlds on the Brink (collects Marvel Preview #14, Marvel Preview #15, Marvel Super Special #10)
Star-Lord: Tears for Heaven (collects Marvel Spotlight #6, Marvel Spotlight #7, Marvel Preview #18)
there’s also a standalone star-lord series:
Star-Lord #1, #2, #3 (these are about another dude called Sinjin Quarrel who takes up the mantle of Star-Lord after Peter Quill has disappeared)
peter quill’s star-lord gets another lease of life in the comics that begins here:
Annihilation Conquest: Star-Lord #1-2
Annihilation Conquest #1-6
Guardians of the Galaxy v2 #1-#25
The Thanos Imperative #1-#6
this is where peter goes into limbo for a while because of the events in the thanos imperative but he makes a comeback and this kinda sorta ‘new’ blonde peter quill (but he retains all of the above origin) begins his run here (with his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy):
Guardians of the Galaxy v3 #1-#15 (most recent issue)
All-New X-Men #20.NOW-#24 (for the Trial of Jean Grey)
Free Comic Book Day: Guardians of the Galaxy (it’s not really important but it explains why there is a new addition to the team from #14 onwards)
Captain Marvel v2 #1-#3 (so far)
and he’ll be getting his own solo series next month, called ‘Legendary Star-Lord’
