What made you ship it?

@trololololololooz‘s art and fics! bloody got me really into it and inspired me to write and create my own au’s for it!

What are your favorite things about the ship?

i like their interactions, it sets up a really interesting enemies to lovers trope layered within a lot of smaller details. there’s also a lot of potential for character growth for the both of them (steve letting others in and connecting with his emotions more positively / jim leaning on others and not shouldering everything on his own / etc)

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

i don’t think i do? mainly, if i do see one, it’s when steve’s intelligence is dumbed down for comedy. you can be a smart and a bit of a dumbass- trust me, i am one.

Archie leaps off Toby’s shoulders and sits primly on a chair, curling his tail around his legs. “Hmph. She can’t even talk yet.”

“You’re just jealous because she’s fluffier than you,” Steve teases.

“She’s going to shed like mad. I hope you’re prepared for that.” Archie lifts a paw and begins licking it. Junie blinks at him, then bounds over and licks his face. Archie yowls and leaps about a foot in the air, before hissing at Junie and leaping off the chair to walk away. Junie tilts her head and makes a sound between a whine and a birdsong, which is weird to hear from a dog and a reminder that Junie definitely isn’t an Earth dog.

“Aw, Arch, give her a chance,” says Douxie. “She’s a sweet dog, I’m sure you’ll be great friends!”

“Not likely,” Archie harrumphs.

2. Who is the most insecure and what makes them feel better?

Oh Jeez. They are honestly both pretty insecure just in general. I think however, post their respective adventures they are feeling more secure and are better at communicating things about their feelings. I think of the two Steven is probably the most insecure at that point. He’s spent so long being the emotional support for those around him that he can default to not putting his own feelings forward, and can feel insecure about that. And just talking things out helps them both feel better. They will cook together and chat while they cook and get their emotions sorted. 

3. Who is the most romantic?

Steven. I feel like Greg is super romantic and Steven definitely inherited that. Jim has his moments, but Steven has way more. 

5. Who says ‘I love you’ first?

Jim. Steven is nervous about saying I love you after Connie. (BTW I don’t know what happens to Connie or Claire in Jeven AUs, I presume friendly breakup?)

9. What is the most embarrassing thing they have done in front of each other?

The crystal gems got super protective of Steven and there were multiple challenges given to Jim before they trusted him. That was pretty embarressing. For Jim it was eating something that was super important to the Crystal gems and the temple when he was hungry. It just looked like a piece of junk!

The most obvious one is seeing my faves again 😭😭

Ever since I started watching Tangled I had this craving for animation magic. When the trailer came out I was so stoked! Can’t wait to see the magic battles in the show

What would be the changes from the events of Wizards in your changeling Toby AU? Would the canon divergence be major or minor?

There’s going to be some pretty major cannon divergence in Changeling Loyalties itself so there would be definite changes to what would happen in Wizards, but unfortunately giving the specifics would be venturing into spoiler territory for my story. 

(I want to spill the beans soooooo bad but I love a good plot twist too much!!! being a writer is suffering.)

Character ask: Jim

Why I like them ~

he has a very soft design, i just love the way his nose slopes and how his hair almost makes for a mullet in the back too lol. he’s also very adoptable, if his 10+ non-human family members isn’t any clue! also he can COOK

Why I don’t ~

i won’t hold it against him, but watching him refusing to tell his mother about what was happening despite her insistence was frustrating to watch, but i know that it was hard for him too.

Favorite episode (scene if movie) ~

the one in 3 below where he and aja know each other from the time loop! i really loved their interactions in there, watching two of the main protags of the different parts of the saga working together was very refreshing imo!

Favorite season/movie ~

wizards gave us full!troll-jim, 120/100

tho in all honesty he showed a lot of growth in season 3, especially after making that huge sacrifice

Favorite line ~

his “what in the world???” gets me every time. i feel you jimmy jam (AND HIS DESTINY SPEECH)

Favorite outfit ~

his normal everyday blue jacket is the classiest

definite top three are jlaire (jim/claire), joby (jim/toby) and jlaireby (jim/claire/toby), crushes to sweethearts and/or best friends to lovers! these kids are truly close with each other in any way you can think of, regardless of any of those ships you choose! jeves (steve/jim) and pepperlake (eli/jim) are also ones i adore lol (stelijim too!)

Brotp ~

toby is is fucking BESTIE, they love each other and got each others backs, platonic or not. i’d absolutely love to see more of them in the upcoming movie, and in fan content in general

also, draal is his huge adult bro who helps him with recycling, and eventually gets him to protect and also clean. jim loves him too

Head canon ~

the boy is trans! 💗🤍💙

also, when (WHEN) he grows older he’ll open up a restaurant catering to humans and trolls! where they could interact in harmony and jim is declared the best cook in the land

Unpopular opinion ~

I’m super glad that he wasn’t able to weild excaliber at the end of wizards— and i kinda?? hope that he won’t be able to? he’s already been through so much and adding more weight onto his shoulders would just crush him :(

A wish ~

i wanna see jim trying to get used to being human again! little scenes with little mishaps on his part, or maybe scenes where it implies that yes jim is human again, but there are things that may never be the same (or at least will take a long while to adapt). and let jim be happy and get some REST
