Over the weeks since her arrival, Sol had been sneaking out of her chambers more and more often. Perhaps the guards knew, but they were still hesitant to even touch her, let alone speak with her. She was an outsider, in every sense of the word.

Her pastime had been climbing the tree that sat in the garden and watching the warriors train during the evening hours before getting to see her brother slowly rise into the sky.

Men and women alike circled one another, weapons clanging. Often she wondered what that would be like, her fingers itching to wield a blade instead of simply her magic. One such woman caught her eye; strong, bold. And one such evening she felt the atmosphere shift, hairs upon the back of her neck standing. She was spotted, eyes catching hers from the dust of the training ground.
