For some reason tumblr isn't allowing some posts with external links to be show up in the tags. For example, if you are posting a story on AO3 and sharing the link here it might not show up in tags. So if you follow someone who does post things on AO3 and you see their posts make sure to pass them along because odds are that people won't be seeing their posts in the tags now. A few people mentioned this to me so I wanted to signal boost this a bit.

Just once I’d like to post something and not have this freaking site eat it. It’s starting to severely annoy me. Can’t have a post up for an hour before it just vanishes into the ether.

I just wanna post stuff in adorable shipping tags without it getting swallowed. Is that too much to want? You hear me @staff? Fix it.

Missing Posts on Dashboard

Is anyone else losing posts from their dashboard? I posted a gifset last week, and only I could see it on my dash. It wasn’t flagged. When I supplied the URL, other people did test reblogs, and it failed to appear on their dashboards too.

I just had another gifset vanish today.

I raised it the first time with Tumblr Support, and they are still trying to discover what went wrong. It rather defeats the whole point of Tumblr if your posts can’t be seen.

Someone out here has a really big hate-boner for me because my posts keep vanishing from tag searches.

What fucking motivates you to target me and mass report my posts that do not violate Terms of Service? Do you hate me that much to relentlessly abuse a report system just to keep my posts from being seen by others?

What’s going on here?

Something weird is going on here... Yesterday, I noticed that my drawing of Ernesto flirting with Victoria was missing. I had meant to delete a reblog of the other pic of them (the one where they’re kissing) earlier in the day, and somehow mistook the one for the other. I ended up accidentally deleting the original post of the flirting pic instead of the reblog of the kissing pic.  Tonight, however, while looking through my archives for this month, I noticed that the Victoria/Ernesto kissing pic was now missing. I know for a fact that I did not delete that picture, even by accident, because I saw it plain as day when I searched my archives for the other pic. I literally had to stop and do a double take to make sure it wasn’t the pic I was looking for at the time.  Also, I didn’t even delete the reblog of it like I had meant to, because it turns out there was no reblog in the first place. I’ve reblogged both pictures before, as many Tumblr users often do to boost views, but I always delete my reblogs after a day or two, so any reblogs of either pic I may have had were already gone before the kissing pic disappeared.  It’s as if someone hacked my account just to delete that one picture. Or it got removed by the admins without being flagged first. Neither scenario seems very likely, and I just can’t figure out how it happened. After that first accidental deletion, I resolved to be extra careful, and to reiterate, I ended up not needing to delete anything else anyway, so it couldn’t possibly have been another mistake on my part... right?  Has anyone else had this issue? BTW the two pictures in question have since been reposted, and are visible directly following this post on my page.

You’re not getting targeted, tumblr searches have been bugging for a while now. I have posts disappear in front of me off my dash as I watch, from people I follow

Now that you mention it, I've been seeing posts from other tags disappear as well. The Nier tag had posts about the recent concert disappear.

I'm thinking Tumblr's shitty algorithm culls posts that don't reach a note threshold after a certain amount of time, but it's not working properly (nothing on this hell site works properly) and posts get culled at seemingly random.

Is tumblr randomly deleting posts another part of this grand clusterfuck lately? Cause I had an old post that got a handful of notes and it’s just gone. Can’t find it on my blog or anyone else’s.
