Send me a ❖ for my character’s personal thoughts about yours
I think the thing that strikes me about Dung and Emma is how much he trusts her? Because all things considered, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Dung really doesn’t do a lot of genuine feeling or sentiment towards other people and I think on most days he would like to pretend that that was true for Emma too, but she’s one of the few people in his life that can get under his skin. There’s this trust built there in that both of them know the other’s secrets and Dung, in spite of being the kind of guy who doesn’t really trust anybody, finds himself trusting her to keep his. Beneath all of that, however, I think there’s definitely a bit of jealousy — it stems in part from their Hogwarts years but he knows that Emma is definitely Too Good for him and that if she hadn’t been forced to leave the League or risk exposure that it’s likely she wouldn’t give him the time of day. He’s quite envious of anyone who possesses obviously marketable skills because he’s never really been able to see himself as anything other than a petty criminal.
Send me a ♣ for my characters thoughts during any general conversation between your and my character
This shirt had a price-tag of five knuts at an Estate Sale and I still nicked it. I hope she can sense it.
Send me a ♧ for my character’s reaction if your character were to express romantic interest in my character
Laughter that would quickly turn awkward when he realised she wasn’t joking. Even then I think he’d probably still think she was joking and just pulling a long con because he’s really not the guy that people see in a romantic light. It would take him a long while to get over himself because he’s definitely not someone who goes in for sentiment and attachments — in that sense he’s a very shallow pool that maybe has like a surprise trap door that’s kind of stuck and you’d have to take a jackhammer to it to get it to open to get to any depth. I think Emma has the advantage there in that she’s already wedged her way in far enough to know there’s a bit more going on beneath the surface.
Send me a ♙ for what my character originally thought your character’s name was before learning their actual name, and why
Oh god, I’m sure Dung was horrific at Hogwarts about this just to annoy her. Emily, Amy, Anita, Emmy. An endless list of vaguely Emma-ish sounding names that he persisted with because it a) annoyed her and b) made him feel slightly better about how insignificant he was in her eyes.
Send me a ♖ for a hastily written ‘good-bye’ letter from my character to yours
Emma-Bee,If you found this you’re either snooping or I’m not around to tell you to leave my things alone. Don’t feel sorry for me. If all goes well I’m on a beach in Belize right now while they’re scrubbing some poor schmucks blood off the cobblestones thinking they finally caught me. If not, who’s really going to miss my ugly mug around the alley anyway? Sell whatever you want, I can’t take it with me. And tell Caratacus to cough up the thirty galleons he still owes me from poker night.
Keep flying, Emma-Bee, leave the ground for the rest of us.
Send me a ♔ for a word that I think sums up our character’s relationship
mischievous ?? there’s the definite sense that they’re trouble for other people when they combine forces. there’s also this buddy-cop, old married couple vibe they have going where they give each other heaps so maybe persnickety (mostly because it’s a cool word.)
Send me a ⊗ for my thoughts OOC on your character
oh man Angie you know how much I love your characters in general but Emma is such a fucking gift. Slippery and self-serving characters have a very dear place in my heart, especially when they are dragged kicking and screaming into being forced to care about things other than themselves and you’ve set Emma up so beautifully to play out this trope that I can’t wait to watch it happen. You play duplicitous characters so well and you can really understand how she’s managed to navigate Pureblood society so well over the years and convince them all of the lie. She’s so sharp and witty and nuanced, you really get the sense that this is a girl who grew up with the understanding of what it would take to survive this world. One of the things that always impresses me with your writing is the depth of the detail you go into with your characters lives and their homes, you’ve fleshed out the entire backstory of Borgin and Burkes and Caratacus with such depth and interest that it all feels so grounded and real and the Knockturn crew are like my favourite thing to exist in an rp. our merry band of thieves make me so happy, bless their little hearts, and I hope we have many-a town meeting to come. You also indulge all the terrible jokes about rotisserie chickens and the rock which I will always be grateful for, bless you angus beef.
