Mediocre Condos for Mediocre People
Ever wonder why the architecture is not that exciting in the DC area?

Boring people demand boring buildings.
Corporate Doublespeak Translation
Went on a couple dates with an attractive girl, unfortunately she was a corporate drone with very little interest in living her life.
After a couple dates, I called her and left a message to try to get together again. Today I received this response via txt:
"hey, didn't mean to be MIA, I've had a great time with you but I'm not interested in taking this any further"
real translation:
"hey, I was dodging your calls on purpose, you didn't fit into my boring life, and your beard made me uncomfortable. I hope I never have to see you again and endure another conversation where I have to think outside the box. Cheers."
YES, this is an actual internet dating profile
My self-summary
When i was in college, i couldn't wait to be a yuppy. Now I'm a yuppy and loving it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i'm afraid of really tall escalators. Rosslyn, dupont, woodley park, bethesda...terrified.
You should message me if
you are taller than me, have ambition, are confident, enjoy your work, crack a good joke, don't take yourself too seriously, like a running buddy, know how to treat a lady. Oh, and if you aren't planning on pasting in a generic message that you send to everyone.
Vapid Yuppies Staying in DC
The empty soulless corporate types are now staying in the city to raise their families. If there was any shot of DC having some cool people, this article may put the nail in that coffin.
"Hi, my wife and I are both GS-13 and we'd like to buy a cookie-cutter two bedroom condo, preferably near some fast-casual chain restaurants and a yoga studio."
"You poor disenfranchised black people, you get out! We have McClaren strollers and we're not gonna put up with your Newport smoking and go-go music!"

Booz Bag
GirlAtParty: Are you a boozer?
Me: What?
GirlAtParty: Are you a boozer?
Me: Um, I do like to drink I guess, why are you asking me this?
GirlAtParty: Oh, I thought you worked at Booz Allen.
Me: What is Booz Allen?
GirlAtParty: Oh, Booz Allen Hamilton, you never heard of it? I do strategic consulting for GSA. I'm a senior consultant.
Me: Oh, senior, you must be very high up.
GirlAtParty: So, what do you do?
Me: I'm Marion Barry's crack hookup. I'm on his speed dial.
Saturday Night Botch on H St NE
Went to the Biergarten Haus. Place was filled with jackers all paying $8 for a pint of beer. Makes you really think about humanity, that so many people are willing to pay $8 for a beer you could buy a six-pack of in a store for $10.
Then went to Litle Miss Whiskey's. Random collection of people. Two guys raging on the dance floor in full suit and tie. I thought H St NE was supposed to be the "hip" area of DC. Guess I missed the boat on that one.
The next day I got into a discussion with a friend about why I was seeing dudes in suits at bars on saturday nights. I remarked to him that I had seen guys out in suits at another bar called McFadden's on another Saturday night.
I was convinced that they must have been at work earlier in the day, but he made a counter argument that people here are so vacuous that they literally go out dressed in suits on saturday nights. He claimed "It's just that they don't know any better." Maybe he was right, who knows.
