the film's biggest mistake was mainly it's portrayal of varg and euronymous, but i don't find this surprising. they were complex characters, and there's only so much information about them and people willing to speak about them. i feel like varg was less of a 'trying to be cool' figure than they made him, and euronymous less of a hero/good guy. the way i see it, in the days of the black circle, varg knew what he wanted, how to get it, and who he was, and he said 'fuck you' to anyone that disagreed. he was much more sure of himself than cohen made him appear; varg is a much more calm and calculated person. and, from what i can tell, euronymous wasn't a hero OR a poser, he was a sadist and a borderline psychopath. øystein knew the power he had over the scene and the people on it, i don't think he took credit for as many things as he did in the film. all around, varg and euronymous's characters are all out of wack. åkerlund could've done a better job. #lordofcheos #blackmetalmovie #norway #movie #2019 #burzum #mayhem #vargvikerness https://www.instagram.com/p/Buo88ZPARJz/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=eysd7w9evvwj
