i don’t remember if i’ve mentioned it on here or not but i think varhany has some kinda giant quilt that’s slowly accumulated segments over the years, whether he sews them on himself or the priest of his cathedral does it idk

Hey Varhany, hows life been treatin ya? Things goin alright?

“Since spring has finally sprung, I have such a beautiful view of the meadow’s wildflowers from my loft!  Acacia’s been helping me plant some new flower beds around the cathedral, too!”

I’m feeling pretty bad so I wanna answer some of those questions I reblogged earlier

• What are their comfort gestures?

Pulling his hair over his shoulder to comb his hands over, his hair is Very smooth like a tassel on a graduation cap so it’s difficult to tangle and is perfect for smoothing, or feeling his cape, it’s much softer than it looks, it almost feels like wool or cotton

• What part of their body is most expressive?

Over the years he has learned to keep his gestures very inward, as not to knock things over or break something, but that’s not to say he bottles up his feelings or anything, he’s just very conscious of the space around him

• What do they sound like?

His shoes have a bit of a heel so they click, except it’s less of a click and more of a knock, it’s heavy because of his size but not sharp, a comforting knock. Since he’s essentially made of wood and (faux) ivory, if you get close enough to him you can hear low creaks of wood when he moves or takes a breath (he doesn’t have a respiratory system but he does have a basic frame)

• What is their normal posture/ most comfortable position?

His most comfortable sitting position is either crossed at the ankles or just his knees together. Much like with his expressions, he tends to things fairly inwardly, he doesn’t cross his legs often so he won’t bump his knee against something, same with sitting on his feet or something like that

• What is their safe space?

Sitting in on a service. During most church hours, him and Lamai are our adventuring or something, not intentionally just by coincidence, so if he’s feeling bad, his favorite thing to do is sit in his loft and listen to a service, choir practice or conference, anything where he can listen to the priest speak. And when the candles aren’t pristine from use, the priest lets Varhany keep them in his loft so they don’t go to waste, and he got him the biggest book of matches he could find. In the loft with his candles lit, looking out his window in the warmth with his thoughts and sometimes lighting a small sliver of wood just to watch the flame is where Varhany feels the safest.
