Hevo Power's Manhole-Cover Inspired Wireless EV Charging Station
These wireless charging stations disguised as manhole covers for electric-powered vehicles will soon allow drivers to charge their vehicles simply by parking on top of the unit. This innovative technology is created by Hevo Power.
The system will make use of a new wireless induction charging technology. This technology is not that efficient yet. However, the Hevo team had addressed most of the problems by incorporating a resonance-based system that charges the battery faster and reduces energy loss. Users will also be able to take advantage of a smartphone based Hevo Power app that will allow them to locate stations, pay for the charge and monitor the speed of charging.
Variable Focus Eyewear
Adlens has developed a variable focus eyewear. It is a new category of vision correction solution that closely models the eye's natural dynamic behaviour. This enables better vision quality and control. The lenses of the glasses can be independently adjusted for near, intermediate, or distance vision. For centuries the power of vision correction lenses has been stalled. Vision however is dynamic and is ever-changing throughout our lifetime. By turning a dial, two sections of each lens will glide across each other until the optimum focus is achieved. It is a simple yet effective solution. More importantly, users will be able to tweak the focus according to their needs without being limited to a few presets.
