Sirrit & V'Arte (shipping meme)
falls asleep on the couch
Sirrit. Once he starts living with V'Arte, he's so much more comfortable and safe-feeling that he starts sleeping a lot more than he generally used to, which was not enough at all, and he didn't even know how bad he needed more sleep. He's been so deprived actually that it takes his body a while to adjust to being able to sleep whenever he needs to, so he sleeps for several hours at once (which is a lot for a salarian) and in odd places, including but not limited to the couch. Or curled up in chairs. Or the floor. Or on V'Arte. Actually a lot on V'Arte.
makes friends with the neighbors
Sirrit, after a while. I figure they're both on pretty good terms, but Sirrit takes a little getting used to. V'Arte is a considerate and polite neighbor, though not nearly as gregarious as Sirrit, whose sheer energy level is a pretty big contrast.
is the adventurous eater
V'Arte (especially desserts), although he gets Sirrit to go along with a lot eventually. (Sirrit will always have some lingering weight/eating anxiety issues, but trusts V'Arte completely and gets a lot better and healthier about it, and actually has fun.)
hogs the covers at night
Sirrit, who tends to cocoon and radiate warmth like a pink sun. Though it's not as big a deal, because he would rather hog V'Arte instead of covers.
forgets to do the dishes
V'Arte is the only one who remembers they exist after they've been used.
tries to surprise their partner more often
Definitely Sirrit, although V'Arte loves turning the tables on him. He never sees it coming and makes hilarious surprised faces.
leaves dirty laundry on the floor
Sirrit is not the neatest person.
stays up til 2 AM reading
V'Arte, although after a while Sirrit tends to flop on him or slowly encroach until his face is in front of the book, going pay attention to ME. He's like a cat.
sings in the shower
Sirrit, always. For extended periods of time and entire discographies. I feel so bad for V'Arte's hot water bill.
takes the selfies
Sirrit again, who feels compelled to document their lives. Partly because he knows how quickly happiness can be shattered and wants to preserve their joy for as long as he can, partly because he just really likes selfies.
plans date night
They both do, and really enjoy doing things together both going out and staying in. Sirrit's ideas tend to be more spontaneous and energetic; V'Arte's are planned in advance and carefully kept secrets until they're ready for the big reveal. They're both very thoughtful though, and the best part for both of them is seeing their partner react with happiness.
v-arte:
He closed his eyes, swallowing the emotional lump in his tightening throat. Silent tears slipped down his cheeks. “Wouldst that I couldst save you from your past. And I woudst give you a past free of terror, even if it meant I couldst not be a part of your future. I wouldst give you that if ‘twere in my power,” he whispered. Oh yes, he would do that for the man of his heart. Because Sirrit’s happiness meant far more to him than his own.
Despite all his years working for a god, he never discovered why the fates could be so cruel to the innocent and turn a blind eye to evil…but he was not a fate…did not know how the tapestry of life had to play out. “Mayhap, you needed to suffer to put you in a position to be a grand Seeker. I know naught how the fates decide. But I mun needs believe everything happens for a reason…for the tapestry of life to grow properly.” Even if he wished it could be otherwise.
"I'd do it all again." Sirrit gently reached out with soft fingers to brush his fiance's tears away. His heart constricted at the sight of them, even as it beat faster at what they meant. V'Arte feeling so deeply for him, and being unashamed to cry in front of him, made his entire being hum with joy, although he'd do anything to ensure there was no more need for tears from the man he loved.
He leaned forward and kissed where the tears had been.
"You hear me? I mean it. If some magic genie appeared and said I had the choice, to either have a life free of pain or have you? Everything, I'd do it again. Every scar and bad night and awful man and every time I cried, I'd do every single thing the same if it meant I could meet you and fall in love with you and marry you." He smiled. "I wish I could go back in time and tell myself, when I was young and scared, that it'll all be okay. The bad times will end and you'll meet a man who makes you feel like you're golden and beautiful and you won't hurt anymore."
He snuggled close to V'Arte's chest, breathing him in and burrowing tight in one of those moments where the smallest separation between them was unacceptable.
"And I hope it's like that for you too. You've hurt so much too, just like I have. You've just hurt for a lot longer, like a hundred times longer than I've even been alive. It's about time you had some good stuff. If that's me... that's the best thing I can even imagine."
