Abdominal etching is a procedure where liposuction is used along the lines of your own muscles to sculpt abs. This ability is enhanced with VASER ultrasound assisted liposuction where the ultrasound probe can be used to highlight the body’s natural curves and outline muscles. In the abdominal area the rectus abdominus muscles can be etched in the midline and lateral border to give vertical enhancement to the abdomen. The horizontal inscription bands can also be highlighted although these can sucomb to gravity over time. For this reason most surgeons will focus on the vertical lines. In addition to etching, VASER allows for a much smoother extraction of fat thereby limiting the risk of contour irregularities.
