So I got this weird idea.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS IF YOU”VE YET TO WATCH STRANGER THINGS!!! BEWARE!!!
(There are Doctor Who references but, no actual spoilers if you've been on Tumblr for more than 6 minutes)
In Stranger Things the monster that lives in the Upside-down likes to feed on meat. It doesn't discriminate whether the meat comes from people or animals. It just feeds. Also, the warning signs include lights flickering off, which seems to almost feed into its power. It lives in a dimension that is a dark reflection of our world and is seen in season one to primarily live in the woods.
What else do we know of that fits this?
The Vashta Narada of course. The shadows that melt the flesh. They ARE the dark and survive off any and all meat. They dwell in forests and can cause lights to flicker off to create more darkness for them to move about in.
The Doctor says that they mostly survive off road kill , but sometimes people go missing. Not everyone comes back out of the dark.
What if the monster is Vashta Narada. Like the swarm in the suit. It took a humanoid form and has enough intelligence to hunt. It uses fear and cover of dark and snatches it prey.
