Earth Invaders - JH Miller Toys (1958)
Photographs taken at the 4th Annual Interplanetary Spacecraft Convention, at the Giant Rock Airport near Landers, California (May, 1957). 1,200 "earthlings" gathered in the Mojave Desert to share stories of alien encounters, attend lectures, and watch the skies for extraterrestrial spacecrafts.
If large, multicellular lifeforms were discovered on another planet, do you believe they would fit neatly within our current established taxa? (animals, plants, fungi, protists, etc)
Yes– current classification would work universally
Partially– some species would fit, others would defy those boundaries
No– entirely new classifications would have to be made

A photo full of aliens!

Finally, after many years (about 6), I am publishing my first post with my sci-fi setting. This photo shows various representatives of 8 species of sophonts that coexist relatively peacefully in the same sector of the Milky Way galaxy.
I've been thinking for a very long time about how to combine the absolute strangeness of my aliens' design with a realistic internal anatomy and physiology that wouldn't make them suffer pain every second of their lives. That's why I've been creating these folks for so long. I might even have given up on the idea of creating such a fictional universe forever if it weren't for other artists. My work and attitude towards creature design were influenced by such wonderful artists as Alex Ries (@alexriesart) with his project “The World of the Birrins”, Jay Eaton (@jayrockin) - the author of the world of “Runaway to the Stars” and several other projects in other universes, Sava Alienfish (@savaalienfish) with “Mission Sinedei“ and Tamari Drenckhahn with the project ”Phtanum b". All of them really inspired me to create my own universe)
Thanks to everyone who somehow magically saw this post! If you are interested in the topic of speculative biology and aliens, you can visit the websites of these artists. I hope you enjoy my work too) See you soon…

На мое творчество и отношение к дизайну существ повлияли такие прекрасные художники как Алекс Рис (@alexriesart) с его проектом “The World of the Birrins”, Джей Итон (@jayrockin) - автор мира “Runaway to the Stars” и нескольких других проектов в других вселенных, Саву Инорыбина (@savaalienfish) с “Миссией Синедей” и Тамари Дренкхан с проектом “Phtanum b”.
I've seen more than one person act like JD Vance's statement about demons posing as aliens is so lolrandom or some kind of new development, but like... this is old hat, actually? This is just bog-standard Christofascist conspiracy theology that's been around for decades now?
