afaik the difference is based on the fact that women don’t have the same level of systemic power over mlm as men do over wlw. they’re both gross and neither should happen–but that’s why men fetishizing wlw is usually seen as worse
that’s uhhh bullshit considering the fact that being dehumanized and seen as nothing but something sexual is just as mentally/emotionally damaging regardless of who is doing the fetishizing. and the fact that (cis)women absolutely love fetishizing trans men (especially trans mlm) and reducing us to our genitals in much the same way that a lot of (cis)men fetishize trans women.
