Ranting about shipping below and my very nuanced thoughts! (Aside from pedo/zoo/necro being bad no matter what)

There’s not a ton of shipping culture in the fandom from what I’ve seen, which honestly is a breath of fresh air sometimes as someone from the fuckass fandoms like FNaF and some other fandoms I’ve been in too (cough cough tadc). It’s mostly because invincible fandom is like *vocally* a bunch of cis/het comic book fans who don’t really care about pairing characters.

Just to put my opinion on that because I don’t want to seem TOO judgemental, I love shipping as long as it has nothing to do with children or animals! Abusive, toxic and violent relationships are fine as long as they aren’t literally defending the concept as non-abusive or something like that.

And yes I do think horrible crimes and moral failures CAN be portrayed, but it needs to be responsibly done in public AND private. Vent art in relation to CSA/rape and some other things needs to be done in a way where it is monitored, never posted into public access like the internet including text forums like Discord. It should be produced in a safe setting with a therapist or psychiatrist involved. Public art like comics, tv shows, movies, and general art pieces have to be made with the sensitivity it deserves.

And genuinely it’s so hard being queer in these spaces too, like I’m gay but I don’t like kids omfg

I love gay people and lesbians and straight people are cool too!! Polyamory is awesome and so is monogamy and making characters trans and exploring different versions of the media I love it. And people, are allowed to have different opinions on different characters!! I wish people weren’t so volatile as well. Wish people were just more nuanced and responsible…

I made Spy first… Originally they were going to be a nebulous, odd character with little to no information, but I’ve gotten attached to the idea of BLU Spy’s head being in RED Medic’s fridge…

Like 4-5 years ago I had this Turkish friend who had this energy, so I took some inspiration from her!
