Vast Nothing
He didn’t like a damn bit of this place. A place he didn’t know, a Void, an emptiness that picked away at him like a vulture to a carcass. He felt like he’d been here before, somewhere yet nowhere, and he hated it. He didn’t want to be here. He scanned the area for something, anything that could be a sign to get out, but there was nothing. That was it: a vast nothingness. He had no stomach, but he could feel it wring itself out anyways out of fear. He wasn’t afraid, oftentimes.
A call out to the darkness, unsure of who may hear it, but desperate for someone to hear him and speak. That was his biggest fear, you know: being forgotten. Considering his forgotten past, it was well placed.
“Hello?!”

----------------------------
in a jewel bespeckled lair
vast riches spread like trash in the corners
of the house that appeared to be a man
the two windows are eyes and the wind both looks in and looks
outside to where the birds fly
spirits playing a different game
feet step through time the plants
effortlessly caress the nature
soul bathes in the river of fire pumping
like blood from the heart
of the earth.
we are not of the earth we are of the
vast nothing
around within and all about.
