In the desert

I miss my bugs, I've missed them a lot. So, here's Zabava, Bink, Roseline and Vasya in the desert, taking a breather in the shade of this Giant artifact.

Thank you @aliasmisc for the suggestion! Not exactly what you said, but I got inspired to put them next to something human sized thanks to you!

I am by no means a painter and, for my own sake, I chose a very simplistic style for the background. However, I still hope I captured the simple beauty of this phenomenon. Once I was blasted with the idea of the sun going through a kid's bucket, I knew I had to at least try.

The mind palace

Vasya is the kind of character that inspires to go for abstract things. She wants to see what's inside other's heads. But what is inside hers?

Based on a conversation my friend and I had in Discord one time. Vasya stands for me and for my friend I used her bugsona!

Day 4 and Day 5 of Bugtober!

Day 4 - Strength. My loyal followers or perhaps strangers on the Internet have decided to indulge me and have chosen Zabava for this day. Strength is carrying the team! Literally! Very useful for when going through shallow waters or swamps.

Day 5 - Artifact. Vi is so funny for this. The first time you bring the artifact to Elizant you can choose between two options and in one of them Vi just goes "Nuh-uh" to the queen. Gives Kabbu a heart attack. Iconic.

Defense mechanisms

Vasya doesn't want to actually hurt the thief, but she doesn't like being stolen from.

Bug facts time!

Velvet ants try very hard to impress upon other animals that they are not something you want to deal with. They have brightly colored markings to warn all those who can see. If it's not enough, they also chirp or squeak their warnings. And they aren't all bark either! Their chitin is tough and their sting is very painful, which is why they are called "cow killers". They can't actually kill a cow, but you know to stay away from them when you hear that name.

Their chirping is cute to me, but that's because I was never bitten by them. I imagine other bugs and animals would find it quite terrifying.

This woman can yell! What else is she capable of?!

Welcome Vasilisa! Vasya for short.

She is a velvet ant, one you can more commonly find on Eurasia.

She is a psychologist of sorts, or as close to a psychologist as you can get in a bug society.

She comes from the North, losing her arm somewhere on her way to the Wasp Kingdom. She comes after the whole Wasp King deal and finds the situation both curious and horrifying. She is used to the bugs suffering from the stress of survival, not the aftermath of a mindcontrolling tyrant. She admits she might have a bit of an unhealthy interest in mind control, but nothing that prevents her from helping the others.

(Kali and Kabbu situation would be very interesting to her, too. Leif's situation should be considered a case study for many fields of science, including psychology.)

All in all, she is a well-meaning if at times off-putting bug.
