The Vatnagedda is a flounder-like fish found living in Iceland. The Vatnagedda is described as a flounder that is depicted as blue or yellow in color and it is covered in hair. The Vatnagedda is said to be very poisonous its name even means “Poisonous Pike.” The Vatagedda’s poison is said to be so deadly that it can even melt rocks. It is very difficult to catch a Vatnagedda because you need to use a gold ring as bait and wear gloves made of human skin to avoid the poison. However despite how poisonous it is, the Vatnagedda hates light and if it is brought up into the light it will die.

The Vatnagedda is an Icelandic cryptid. It is a poisonous fish that only lives in Iceland's darkest lakes. Vatnagedda means "loch pike".

The Vatnagedda, despite its name, looks more like a flounder. It is usually said to be yellow, although some say it is blue. All reports indicate that it has hair or fur of some kind. It hates the light and actively avoids it at all costs. The fish is also quite small, but still packs a deadly punch.

This fish is so poisonous that it can melt both skin and rocks, and apparently even ghosts are not immune to it's poison. When fishing for the Vatnagedda, gloves made of human skin are recommended, although the fish's poison will still cause rashes and inflammation to the fisherman even if he wears the gloves. You must also bait the hook with a golden ring.

The first sighting of the Vatnegedda was in 1859 and the last sighting was in 1924.
