#Repost from @incubusofficial ••• I really like the phrase “chosen family”. I think I first heard it at the Black Lily in 1999 (sup Okayplayers!). Some of us come into the world with people we don’t get on with well. These days it’s kinda common to find out that your favorite cousin is actually a raging racist online. In my opinion we don’t have a lot of control over that. But sometimes we do have the ability to see certain friends as our chosen family. People we would stand with through hell even though we don’t share the same blood. It might seem like semantics but it’s something important to me and I’m grateful for it.
