Nakshatra Finder
An easy way to locate which planets fall into which Nakshatras is to go vaultoftheheavens.com, create a chart, and note your planetary placements according to their tropical location in the sky at the time you were born.
A warning -- the print out is overwhelming, but look for the section in blue that says “planetary details.” Note the nakshatras and padas (1,2,3,4) each fall into.
This is the only online site I know of that calculates tropical locations of Nakshatras. The sidereal equivalents have never resonated with me, but I have been amazed with how relevant tropical interpretations of Jyotish/Vedic astrology have been in my own interpretive work and have followed in the footsteps of Western astrologers who came to the same conclusions.
It’s worth looking up each personal planet, and I highly recommend learning your moon and its pada’s ruler. I’ll try to post more in the coming months. It’s a lot to summarize -- 27 (28 really) in-depth archetypal stories that manifest differently according to each planet. Similarly to the Western world where there are different flavors of astrology, Indian astrology varies in the sheer vastness of its interpretations. Finding a clear, unifying theme across Nakshatras and their planetary placement largely depends on which guru’s text you follow. Just keep that in mind if you try to do a google search on your Nakshatra and discover that you are both destined for fame and happiness and a disastrous and poverty-stricken life depending who you read. I recommend ignoring these, as many differ greatly from site to site and are happy to offer astrological remedies for a fee. Rather, the Vedas themselves from which Nakshatras derived are packed with wisdom and themes you may have encountered in your life and wondered why.
