I need to vent. If you don't want to post, feel free not to. I just need to get this off my chest.

1) I am from a poor country which has benefited from COVAX. The initiative to distribute vaccines to poorer countries didn't start yesterday because a bunch of celebrities said so.

2)Why is Selena Gomez asking ITALY to give vaccines? The country which was hit the hardest by the pandemic. Italy was left helpless by US and other rich countries. They don't have enough vaccines for their own people. I'll never forget the day it was reported that in 24 hours Italy had 997 deaths. I would dread the time new cases/deaths were reported. I'm not Italian, but it hurt so much.I feel close to crying right now as I think of it.

3)I'm so fucking tired of celebrities using world problems as a way to score PR points. I'm pretty sure they haven't had a change in their routine except putting a mask on. Sunbathing in their multi-million dollar mansions while others are dying/starving sure is helpful. Pretty sure their PR person has a list of world problems they can use to trend on Twitter so they keep themselves in the news.Why don't they donate to the companies developing the vaccine/ producing it? Oh,my bad, they need another villa in the Bahamas. Got it.

4) No offense to the US or any hard-working Americans (you guys will forever be in my prayers, those COVID-19 statistics were terrifying. Praying for better days that you don't need to worry about your job or health) but the US wouldn't give access to India for raw materials until a short while ago, even though India is still dying.

5)This vaccine thing they're doing,sounds like a sham. They will donate what exactly? They're using people's deaths as a way to stay in the headlines and help their PR. Despicable.

Anon, I had to post this. I can tell how raw and real your emotion was when your typed this. The suffering that Italy went through was surreal, what’s going on in India right now is horrific. This nightmare is far from over, and the last thing I need to hear is lectures from millionaires, whose lives have not changed one bit and have lost nothing.
