okay hold on. i do realize that this description doesn't make much sense but i'm going to do it anyway just trust the process

RECORD - CHARACTER BIO

Codename: Gained after voicebank switch - NJ05 (NJ"re-ko") (bit of a stretch, i know, but)

Record (NJ05) is the Agency's best scout. This flower unit used to be a indie idol, doing multiple shows before seemingly disappearing off the face of the earth. They cut their hair, switched from a CeVio to a VOCALOID4, then started working as a service bot.

You can imagine their employers were confused with a synth android joining their forces, but they were actually really good with people and worked in a hotel as a receptionist for around 2 and a half years.

Around the time The Order was sent out Record found refuge in a building, masterfully hiding from the company. During their 2 year time of hiding in the building, they rigged themself to become an Unassigned NEO in order to not attract suspicion.

One day, Apple found Record charging in the hazy sunlight and offered for them to come into the Agency building in the pocket dimension hidden in the building. There, they found refuge and soon started working. Petal built them a mechsuit and they've been a scout ever since. They have helped find Lily and multiple other androids since then.

BY THE WAY LET ME CLARIFY THIS MUCH

When I say "age" in VBRA posts, this applies to APPARENT AGE.

These guys have a pretty high chrono age considering this is quite far into the future, and don't get me started on their mental age.

Also, again considering this is a "dYsToPiAn fUtUrE" sort of thing where Vocabots (by the way, this is short for "vocal synth robots" referring to vocal synthesizer androids) can't get body modifications anymore, they've been like this for a while. So unless I decide to change something, they're stuck at that apparent age. Forever.

Apple (J6N5) is one of the founding members of the VBRA. A original V2 model, Apple is a Hatsune Miku, fifth gen.

She was really close with many VOCALOID producers, lending her voice for several popular songs. She helped producers for quite a while before The Order.

When the ban occurred, she quickly took action and used her knowledge of portals to make one hidden in a wall. From there, she created a dimensional house with many, many rooms. She met Mint around this time, and the two became close friends. With their knowledge and skills, the two built a safe place for all androids seeking shelter.

LILY - BIO

Age: She picked 23

Gender: Female (she/they)

Lilly is a console manager, collecting tips from the correspondents and giving them to the scouts. She was previously an Unassigned, now fit with an Eleanor Forte voice bank.

Once upon a whenever, Lilly was found abandoned in an alleyway, where Record found her and took her back to the shelter. Being a new scout, Record panicked, not knowing what to do. Petal helped Record fix her up and turn her on.

Seeing as she was clearly meant for an adult voice bank due to its shape and size, Petal fit her with an Eleanor Forte. Thankfully, Lilly was meant for SynthV voice banks, and absorbed it quickly. Mint soon found out about her coding expertise, which she gained from learning how to modify her code while being in storage for 20 years. She drafted her in as a console operator.

She works alongside Mint and Gum as a secondary console operator. She's doesn't go out often, but when she does it's to collect samples and take recon photos for Petal, Apple and Record.

What is an Unassigned?

When a vocal synth android is built, they are normally shaped and created with a specific voicebank in mind. Twintails are given to Mikus, more mature figures are given to MEIKOs and KAITOs, physical robot features and headphones are given to Adachi Reís and Uta Utanes, etc.

However, this isn't the case for every vocal synth android.

A Unassigned is any vocal synth android that doesn't have a voicebank assigned to them. Unassigneds are normally prototypes and androids meant for testing and other things like that that the scouts find.

Alternatively, vocal synth androids that have a voicebank assigned to them can become Unassigned after a hard factory reset and/or enough time spent without power. (the timing tends to be loose, but it's like 2-3 decades long) This chance increases if the android was previously an Unassigned.

Although an encounter with an Unassigned is highly unlikely, scouts normally carry voice cartridges, discs and cards (whichever one depends on the model, only older models use the cartridges and discs) meant to be inserted into the Unassigned giving them a voice bank and clearer thoughts, along with a personality.

Unassigneds can be for any vocal synth - VOCALOID, SynthV, UTAU, CeVio, you name it. UTAU Unassigneds are the most common as people can build UTAU Unassigneds themselves for their own homemade voicebanks.

The scouts don't have much experience with encountering NEUTRINO Unassigneds, and the only NEUTRINO voice bank that Record carries is Zundammon. (They don't like Zundammon, by the way. They find it annoying.) Petal carries a supply of voice banks for all vocal synths, having the most VOCALOID and UTAU ones. He makes more regularly with his own files when the scouts need them. After an Unassigned gains a voice bank, they normally require contact with other androids in order to cement the voice bank and gain a personality.
