Idk why but I like making VBS bad ppl so much bro

So for context (this is gonna be cringe so if ur gonna hate on it just skip the post already); I have some au kind of thing where VBS is the bad thoughts of people, or to be more clear, they're ghosts that likes to mess with people and especially in their bad times, and the bad thoughts of those people trigger them and just they try to make that person worse with manipulating them, telling them the worst possible scenarios or bullying them.When something good happens that makes the mood of the person they haunt, they get pissed off and try to push them into having negative thoughts again, telling it's all just a lie or they don't deserve it etc.

I just imagine that sometimes when things get really bad, and Jekyll is on the verge of doing Something Very Bad™ his brain just forces him to stop. Like shutting down a computer...but different. So he just. Sits somewhere looking really confused and sad and overall not really comprehending the world around him. And if you interact with him, he either just stares at you or says something that probably sounds like the words of a scared child. Once it's over he sort of locks away the memory in the back of his mind and goes about his life as normal. If anyone mentions it, he says he doesn't remember something like that happening.

Even Utterson and Lanyon don't know what to do with him when he's in this kind of Mood™, so they usually just sit by him until he recovers. They've tried to bring it up a few times, but he genuinely seems not to remember it.

Oh also-- VBS (title abbreviation of another fanfic in planning) Jekyll had a stutter as a kid, but obviously his parents practically beat it out of him. Nowadays, it only comes out when he's really doing bad.
