Background/Biography:
Park ‘Sin’ Shinwoo had never known who his birth parents were. He’d grown up in an orphanage and was adopted when he was in middle school. He was never given any background on who his parents were. Despite that, he’d always been a happy child. from a young age, he’d always been very honest. If he did something wrong, he owned up to it no matter the consequences. As he got older, he’d grown obsessed with wanting to be a police officer. He saw the officers as just and right. He wanted to help people and he’d seen a lot of crime around the city. He spent his high school years in Chicago, learning the English language and learning about other cultures. After graduating, he went to Seoul National University and studied engineering. It was his senior year, when he met the woman who would change his life forever. A year into the relationship, they found themselves expecting a baby girl. Once Hyerim was born. Sin joined the police academy and while there, he became very good friends with a man by the name of Briar. They were partners when he first joined the force. He loved everything about being a cop. He was able to help others as well as keep the streets of Agdoeg clean of crime. For years,he lived happily with his family. But one night changed it all. His fiancée had found herself in a tight jam and Sin didn’t want to see her put away so he made the whole situation disappear. He knew that it was wrong but he didn’t want to lose her. But one situation became two and then three and before he knew it, he’d become the type of cop that he despised. When he realized that she wasn’t going to choose him over her lifestyle, he left her. He still continues to take care of his daughter and from time to time, he finds himself falling into bed with his ex. He wants to cut things off but at the same time, he’s afraid to lose her completely.
INTERVIEW QUESTION (para sample): “Just run us through what happened that night”. - Officer
Shinwoo leaned back in his seat, hand running down his face. “I wasn’t fucking there. I was at my daughter’s school. It was career day. And why am I being questioned? I sign your paychecks. This is honestly bullshit.” Shinwoo sighed and looked to the mirror that he knew his superiors were behind. “Why am I here? Just tell me what the fuck is going on so that I can go home to my family.” There was no way that they knew that Shinwoo was the one feeding information to the Night Bloods. There was absolutely no way to trace it back to him. He made sure of it. “You’re free to go. We just needed to question everyone. It’s routine.” Shinwoo scoffed, standing up from his chair. “Routine. Yeah, sure. You’re not the one that’s going to have to apologize to a class full of kindergartners for being hauled off in the middle of class.” With a roll of his eyes, he knocked on the door before he was let out. Turning bad was starting to look so good.
