Herding a group of panicked civilians was not an easy task, but Edgar was doing his best to call attention to everyone and direct them towards a safe exit. There was a shout behind him and he turned to see someone disappear in the chaos. Hurrying over, he spotted a young man lying on the ground and quickly bent down to grab him before he could be trampled. “Come on,” he muttered, his voice shaky from all of the excitement.
It had been the first time in a long time that he had received a message about an attack and been called to help. After the kidnapping of Minerva McGonagall it shouldn’t have come as a shock that the Death Eaters were planning something, but he hadn’t been prepared for this. Now he was simply doing his best to help who he could, since he knew his skills as a duelist were lacking. Getting civilians safely out of the building was the best thing he could do for the Order.
Though it would seem that forces were working against him, for the moment he managed to get the young man pulled to his feet and out of the way of the crowd, there were more screams ahead and he looked up to find two masked figures moving against the crowd and shooting spells at anyone in their way.
“Shit,” he hissed. “Just --- Just stick to the side, you’ll be alright. Try to get people to start moving down the right corridor,” he told the man, who looked shocked and terrified, but nodded.
You can do this, youcandothis. Come on Eddy, do something.
Sucking in a terrified breath, Edgar began pushing his way through the crowd, trying to reach a spot where no innocent people were in danger of falling victim to his terrible aim. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted another Order member. Peter was young, but at that moment Edgar needed any help he could get, knowing that there was no way he could take care of two Death Eaters on his own. “Peter!” he called, hoping to get his attention before silently shooting a stunning spell at the Death Eater closest to him. He muttered an oath as the shot went wide, too scared to shoot off any spells that might cause lasting damage in the very likely chance that he might hit an innocent.
