LIKE. Why can’t they just respect our personal space and bite normal areas. Or just not come after us at all.

vcrshark answered your question “Need help with art?”
I'm a mega perfectionist when it comes to drawing, so it's hard for me to actually finish/get into a piece...any tips for how you get back into art after not doing it for awhile, or getting caught up on details?
I used to have a huge problem with that myself, mostly for inking. But I always finished my work, so my advice may not help but who knows!
Perfectionism
Most of this will be related to inking as that’s my experience.
Use a duplicate canvas. While I did of course zoom in and out all the time, I found that I was still being “tricked” by the zoomed in image. I’d get frustrated that the zoomed out image looks different, less texture for example. I’d add details and fix lines that really had no reason to be there because you can’t actually see it in the full image. Using one zoomed out canvas and one to actually work in helped me a lot for a while there. I could continually check what it was meant to look like. Whatever was drawn on one would appear on the other. (Both SAI and Mangastudio has this option, I don’t know about other programs).
Gesture sketches help your art be less stiff but also helps you be less perfect because you’re making yourself do something quick, getting the movement, not the details. Then you can do a sketch.
I haven’t tried this but I’ve heard doing speed art can help a lot. Chose something to draw, give yourself a maximum time, stop when the time is done even if the art isn’t finished. This is a good way to practice speed and learning what details should and shouldn’t be included.
I very much enjoy this video, they talk a lot about brushes and looser inks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc850blMZkI
It’s a long video so a couple key points: Don’t be scared to use “weird” brushes. Sometimes brushes with imperfections helps you be less perfect. Different ink and canvas colours can help, like using a light colour. I personally like to work with black but on a grey canvas.
Something really important that I learned: Clean art is often an illusion. I used to love this artist’s clean inking style, and one day got to see a close up and it was, simply put, sloppy. These things get hidden when you look at the full image, not working up close. Which is why the duplicate canvas helps. Knowing this sorta helped me be less perfect.
Now, when it comes to getting back into it, I personally work by discipline, not motivation, which I talk about here: http://sbneko.tumblr.com/post/144561851837/how-do-you-deal-with-art-funk-a-few-weeks-ago-i
Sadly, in this situation there’s not much you can do but make yourself draw. Either a lot, or a bit, any amount helps. I find majority of the time, the hardest part is starting. Once you push past that, which can be minutes to an hour, it gets way easier.
