the weird thing about being a leftist is the government calling you a radical extremist and your family believing that youre a radical extremist and the whole times your main political beliefs are shit like "we live in a world where we could very easily end world hunger, homelessness, most disease, poverty, ect. and the people in power are choosing not to, and thats evil and should change" and that bigotry is bad
Now replace "feed" with "bomb" and people who objected to it would start supporting it.
The cruelty is the point.

Two different cutaway views of the Bacchus lll, the starship from the 1978 television series Starwolf.
Does nobody find it fucked up how humanity has progressed so far technologically and yet we get to feel so little of it? All but the wealthiest among us still have to shave off large chunks of our adulthood lifespans just to not die of starvation, disease, exposure, or any other basal threat we could surely have been safe from.
Am I spoiled for having no desire to contribute to a society that so desperately wants me thrown to the wolves for the sin of not being born rich or a mindless machine? Am I a weight on society for expecting to live a happy life rather than one of endless sisyphian suffering and recharging? Am I selfish for craving a world where I won't be violently beaten into a shape that fuels the greed of glorified lords and kings? Am I somehow the fool for not wanting to take this constant stream of greed-driven suffering and regression lying down?

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani succeeded last night in his attempt to build a democratic socialist power base in the Big Apple. His endorsed congressional candidates — Brad Lander, the former city comptroller, and two democratic socialists, Darializa Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez — all won their races Mamdani said the results showed that his victory in the mayor’s race last year marked a turning point in progressive politics. “It was not the end of a political movement, it was the beginning.” But I think it’s more than that. Democrats across the nation now face the biggest opportunity they’ve had since World War II to change the face of American politics. It’s time for Democrats to take on the class war that’s being waged by the nation’s oligarchy against most Americans by becoming class warriors themselves. By class warrior I don’t mean resorting to violence or name-calling. I mean recognizing that a billionaire class is bad for America and calling for bold changes to reverse it: taxing great wealth, busting up monopolies, strengthening labor unions, raising the minimum wage, demanding profit-sharing and capital-sharing, ensuring Medicare for all and a universal basic income, and getting big money out of politics. Congratulations to these candidates for taking on our rigged system.
