cute: livvy having a key to mike’s flat so she can go hang out there and be a kid for a little bit bc if the cult so much as looks in his direction he can and will take away their oxygen privileges
less cute: mike forgetting livvy is there and showing up covered in blood after popping someone like a zit bc he’s a small and terrible horror show

Tʜᴇ ᴄᴏʟᴏʀ scheme is definitely lacking. It's like someone took the world and put it on greyscale, and frankly, even just looking at it makes her as uncomfortable as it most likely does to anyone that spends too long trying to pick her form aside, what with the ever shifting limbs and the colors in her hair and the swirls beneath her skin and the thousand not-quite-right features; not in the bold uncanny valley sense any Stranger would bear but very obviously wrong and just making most minds slip right off of her. Despite everything, it made it very hard to remember her exactly (make you question your memory, make you wonder if you dreamed the whole encounter).
There's a faint rest of the person there was that appreciates the cutout, and the view, and calculates briefly, automatically on auto pilot what some place like this would sell for. Of course, no such thing here. That's not why she's here.
(Why is she here? It's not like she's been invited in, after all.)

her heart skips slightly, the twinge of fear almost a reflex than anything she could think of. she was use to be scared at this point - use to being terrified of the people listed in these statements, terrified of the world and its turning and shaping itself around her to something new and not good. but it was just as much of a reflex to steady herself, to take that deep breath she needed and straighten back up. ❛ honestly ? no. no idea. but i know enough to understand i don’t have to be scared of you if i don’t want to. i just want to talk. ❜
❝ do you not get what “done talking” means ? ❞
“ nah, sorry i must have missed class that day. ” words drip with sarcasm, it’s not a slip of the tongue really, he just doesn’t try to stop the response as it leaves his lips, doesn’t filter it. deciding that polite professionalism might be too much of an effort for today. juno shrugs rather carelessly. it isn’t a personal dig by any means, he just doesn’t see the point in giving the extra effort if he’s going to be shot down anyway. “ let me take a guess, something along the lines of shut the hell up, and piss off, right ? ” he hums. “ am i close ? ”

he should have been prepared for his appearance, the stench of ozone filling his nostrils seconds prior. attention was solely directed at the few scanned pages of a leitner he had scrounged up in the back corners of a research site. practically illegible due to the image quality but still a lead. one of the few ethan had actually found. it was the sudden touch on his back that startled him, knee shooting up and banging the underside of the desk. a curse escapes his lips as he fumbles for the penknife sitting next to the laptop, finally turning to the familiar face. “ you could have just said hello. ” briefly pinching the bridge of his nose, he shuts the laptop before facing mike properly. left hand presses flat against the desk to disguise the slight tremor, fingers tensing and relaxing. after a moment of silence between them, ethan pipes up, “ something you need? ”
Mike’s home is always so much nicer than Agnes’. Or maybe it was just because Mike’s home felt more like a home than Agnes’. Less like a shrine and less ... clinical. She’s seated on the chair she usually picks -- and she sometimes wonders if it’s just there for her -- metal and heavy -- not likely to scorch under her like standard wood does. Mike is a lot like a brother, in many ways. Agnes never had siblings, and she kept her distance from the others at the home for her own reasons. So, Mike filled that void. The need for a friend and confidante and someone who could appreciate her without the fact she was the ‘Messiah’ getting in the way. Just like movies.
She stirs her coffee with a long finger, keeping it incredibly warm, but hardly noticing it. “I found a really cool audio book about the history of parachutes the other day...” She remarked, softly, but with a smile on her lips, “Rather interesting, all things considered. What makes a parachute and parachute and the physics behind it.”
