“Obviously it would only be right for me to start addressing the elephant in the room, as they say… Though I’m not too sure who ‘they’ is actually, but it’s apparently a thing that ‘they’ say. Also, I’m not exactly sure why ‘they’ use that phrasing. ‘Elephant in the room’. Has nothing to do with animals, so it doesn’t really make all too much sense, that expression… Right. Enough procrastinating, then. I should get on with it, starting with the, uh, ‘elephant’, I suppose…

The Netflix and Chell joke. Obviously one of my biggest mistakes, though I thought it was pretty humorous. Still do, actually, but I don’t think you appreciate it yet… Uhm, I got us lost quite a bit down in the facility. Swore I knew what I was doing, but ahh, didn’t. Lied a lot about the whole ‘knowing where we’re going’ bit. Lots of dead ends there, honestly… I flipped the wrong switch. You know, the one that ahh, woke Her up. Honest mistake there, but still a pretty nasty one, if I’m honest. Seriously could’ve avoided a lot if that one hadn’t happened. Shouldn’t have said you had brain damage, even if you do. Just not the most polite thing to point out, I’d imagine. Probably quite rude, really…

“That’s the spirit, love!” Her enthusiasm is undeniably contagious, the corners of Wheatley’s lips naturally drawing upwards as he nods once in encouragement, stature straightening. His hand reaches to take Chell’s without a beat of hesitation, fingers curling against hers in a delicate squeeze before he sets off in the direction ahead of them in wide strides of confidence. They would only make it a few feet forward, however, before the pace of his steps would begin to decrease to almost come to a complete halt. In that brief distance traveled, Wheatley’s facial expression had gone from keen to deep contemplation, the man’s eyes beginning to survery their surroundings as he muses aloud, “Now it’s, uhm... A matter of figuring out where exactly we’re supposed to be going at this point, really. Would probably be a good and fairly important bit of information to know, I imagine.”
