OC 8 facts meme - Victor von Stollenheim
Got tagged over on DA. Thought I might as well post it here too.
So 8 facts about Victor. I'll try to include new stuff but I'll include some basics too.
1: The basics: Victor currently lives in Fairyland. He moved there after something of an intervention at his cousin's wedding when everyone noticed the white streaks in his hair had gotten worse and his mother looked extremely pale. This is because when vampires hit their teens they need more than one donor, but Victor has been kept away from people except a few family members and also taught that humans will stake him as soon as look at him.
2: Victor's father Heinrich was killed by a mob led by a vampire hunter when he was six, so his fears are not entirely unfounded.
3: Victor is from an area called Kratzland. It's a loose collection of countries. The countries change a lot because when you offer a princess' hand in marriage and half the kingdom as a quest reward, and you live in the Otherworlds where stories like that are going on all the time, that is what's going to happen.
4: Victor did not go to school but was educated at home in subjects suitable for nobles such as literature, maths, natural knowledge and bookkeeping. Unlike on Earth, noble is a job position and not necessarily an inherited title, though many children do inherit the job in a similar way to other family businesses. Victor's father was a Count and this means he had to do things like collect taxes, act as a jury member, keep the population registry up to date, etc etc. Victor was expected to assist/take over for his mother eventually.
5: Victor's native languages are English and Kratzan, a sister language to German. The common language on Anima is English so it's a native language for many Animalings. He speaks a smattering of Common Gaia. He's dabbled in a few other languages but it's very difficult to get practice when you spend most time alone and have only a few books for resources.
6: His main hobby is reading and his favourite genre is romance. He doesn't write, but he would like to. He does come up with a lot of scenarios in his head, but paper is expensive, so he doesn't write anything down. He has read a lot of Earth books, as they are much cheaper than Anima-made books. The yokai peddlers often have such books.
7: He does also like to draw, but again, paper is expensive so most of his drawing was scribbles in chalk on his blackboard that's meant for studying and got erased quickly.
8: Victor enjoys cooking, which is good, because there was just him and his mother at home 99% of the time and she'd gotten very weak before he moved away. Before his father was killed they had servants, but he doesn't really remember any of that.
