"Aye, well, rather you than me." Balfour wasn't exactly self-conscious - well, not about his looks - but neither had he taken this job as an excuse to get his kit off all the time. Quite the opposite, actually. He was a bit relieved that he just got to stick around outside and do all the busywork rather than be fawned over.

At any rate, Balfour finally looked up from the book he was reading - Emma, naturally - and gave Liddy a smile, amused. "I don't think they take their clothes off in these, you know."

Balfour leaned casually against her doorframe, one hand near to his shoulder, his chest resting against his arm and his jaw against his fingers. He'd come here to ask if she wanted to have lunch with him. And, honestly, to flirt a little bit. But mostly to ask after lunch, since he'd been reading - that long and arduous process - and he wanted to discuss it with her. Since that was what made it fun.

It was the last thing on his mind now, of course.

"No." As if he would pass up on whatever the fuck was going on here. Without even a pause: "What have you done? Why are you hiding?"
