There were moments where Atieno would arrive at an area for specific tasks or to find something. Or someone. It was not unusual for them to investigate appearances of those that seem to have at least somewhat related abilities. If nothing else the idea of someone referring to themselves as Dark Matter did pique their attention if only to see what it was actually about.
It was that in mind that they had been wandering around Academy City. It was an interesting place from what they could tell - seems like there was a lot to potentially be aware of while navigating the place.
Now it was one thing to be in the area, another to ask around about someone. So talking to the nearest individual who they felt some kind of energy coming from seemed like a solid bet. “Hey there - have you heard anything about this Dark Matter person?“ It was best to get to the point - either the kid would know or they wouldn’t and Atieno was always prone to being forthright when they could be.
