This will be the first trip to South Korea that I will be able to actually remember. It's been about 18 years?
...I had trouble getting my way around the San Francisco airport... The flight across the Pacific was long (13 hours?) and I watched three movies comfortable. The stewardess's uniforms were very cute, and this was the first example in which I would notice that coffee and beige colors are quite well liked in Korea... Rio 2 was mildly embarrassing to watch. Captain America 2 was alright. Wolverine 2 was....
I could not believe how... stuffy, it was in the Incheon airport. There were young women in very cute hanbok that were holding signs to help people find their way around the airport though, and it was pretty adorable. But seriously. Air conditioning. Please.
Upon heading out of immigration and customs, I wanted to find the K Book Centre stores to get my SIM card as soon as possible, but my aunt Kim Kyung, found me insanely fast. My aunt told me later on that she had recognized me for sure when she saw that I walked exactly like my dad....We took a bus to Jamsil, which took about... an hour? It was a shock for me to see hills covered in trees to the ocean and back so fast. The bright fog that blurred the line between the sky and the water was something... Met up with her husband, and we went out to eat ssambap for dinner.
Now, I usually do eat a lot during my meals, but that's usually because I only eat two meals a day. As of now, it's day 3 in Korea, and I can't get used to eating so often ugh AND IT DOESN'T HELP THAT I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT...
Anyhow I came back and took a shower, and this was probably the biggest moment of culture shock - the shower didn't have a curtain. Water just spills out. There's a drain in the floor but it's still annoying and I actually took it upon myself to grab a towel and wipe up the water. Annoying. Also lmao the toilet definitely has a bidet but I don't trust my Korean enough to try it.

The next day, I woke up around 9am and got some time to myself. Watched Running Man on TV! That was... odd. In the afternoon, my aunt took me out to the bank, and to a hair salon since I wanted to cut my hair short.
I hate to say it but so much regret. I shouldn't have had it cut. Afterwards, though, we got my phone figured out and headed to the Lotte department store and I got some clothes... scoped out what to get as gifts for people too, heheh.. I also got a sweet hat, which manages to crush my incredible puffy hair down. My expensive hat has become my pride. Thank the lord.
Mosquitoes are killing me. The swollen bites on my feet make me look diseased. The nights are hot and even though the internet speed is incredible, I miss air conditioning. End of Day 2!

Honestly, I haven't been doing so well in terms of mental stress and whatnot, and I'm a little worried about the pain my drawing hand's thumb when I bend it a certain way? But I shouldn't have skipped posting on this blog for such a long time, so I'll try my best to do better.
