Yup. It just becomes more concentrated. Some constituents degrade in the chemical reaction of breaking down flesh (not the toxic fluid’s only purpose, just a side effect) to create inert byproducts, so technically less is left over than is injected, but it just gets reabsorbed, filtered and concentrated. Early Veei also expressed anger by shooting it and could also develop stones in their palps from the poison getting so thick it solidified (which often ended up in loss of that palp’s functionality as a weapon), whereas Veei currently extrude the nasty stuff every now and then as an act of self-maintenance, having long become civilized to the point of never squirting it at people when they are angry.

The stones are not unheard of, however, though they tend to manifest lower in the digestive system allowing them to be passed by regurgitation (not pretty!) though if these stones form in a palp they can agitate and infect the tissue and cause loss of hearing (since their tympanic membranes are located just under the skin of each palp, about 3-4 small ones every few inches).

Veei evolved from earlier cave dwelling forms that were not too far from them in overall cognitive skill, but who lacked a decent concept of time and thus couldn’t apply themselves to forming complex concepts or to thinking of anything in the future or past, really.

They had much longer secondary arms and palps and used their pigment camouflage to blend in with shadows and cave walls. In the dark they would lure prey by appearing to be colonies of pseudofauna by using their photophores to disrupt or accentuate the lines of their bodies, and then the would lay in wait, tendrils spread radially around their head, waiting to ensnare whatever came too close. Their poisons caused near instantaneous death via toxicity.

I’m inferring that Veeus digestive systems filter out undigestible matter and toxins that would normally be excreted as solid waste and dissolve it into a highly concentrated liquid that gets refined multiple times by their systems (the product of that is excreted in that ‘urine’ I described). The highly concentrated, toxic and by now fermented concentrate is brought away from the digestive systems and into their head to be dispersed into their cranial palps where it can be injected by way of the 1 to 2 inch hooks hiding in them.

Poop. It’s poop.

I mean not really but that’s the running gag and whenever its explained to Via Lacteans they seem to immediately go there, mentally.

It’s basically a concentrate of everything unsterile about shit, environmental acids, some bromane, some fungal compounds, corn...no not corn, sorry.
