Im lowkey convinced that if Padme had died way earlier then Anakin wouldnt have fallen. Obi-Wan would've become his only anchor. If Padme wasnt around anymore to be worried about saving, Obi-Wan would've easily been able to keep Palpatines grooming from making him fall.
