iris and vee (veeris): the two with unnatural hair colors. both chill & nice & pleasant to all except those who don’t deserve it. vee treats iris with a very chill sweetness. gently, but respectfully. always makes sure to check in with her, try to engage her in conversation… i mean, vee’s really nice and good with most people she knows, but iris especially appreciates it. vee propositioned her once, and iris was a bit flustered and was like “oh i shouldn’t, but, thank you for asking? i appreciate it, vee” and vee backed down real easy and friendly. leather jacket butch and sweater cotton candy femme… mmmm. they’d be an incredibly sweet couple. iris really likes stupid expensive baked treats (like those ice cream filled donuts) and vee would love to dote on her. iris can be something of a hopeless romantic and vee would love to indulge that. vee has a big kind heart, and after some less than great ends of relationships, she’s rather wary about giving hers away completely. that’s sort of the problem? vee’s at once desperate for commitment but also very commitment-phobic because she’s afraid of getting hurt again, while iris is contractually unable to commit to more than just being friendly... so they just sort of orbit around each other, not getting any closer but still quite liking each other on both a romantic & a friendly level.

iris and marian (irian): moon and sun lesbians. have no idea what to do with each other beyond their usual interactions of teasing. have fooled around in the past, more than once, because iris thought marian wouldn’t take it as more than it is, and marian thought she wouldn’t too. marian sends out a lot of sensitive artifacts and receives a lot of important commissions, so iris sees her a lot. marian likes to tease her and iris rolls her eyes because marian is just teasing her, certainly, but… ugh. marian. it’s nothing serious, both of them are fairly sure the other thinks, so whatever, it isn’t serious. iris doesn't have to be diplomatic, since marian wants to take her teasing and dish it out in kind. marian quite likes iris because iris can keep up with her: iris is very good at maneuvering through debates/arguments and getting them to resolve in the way she thinks is best, and it excites marian to play that conversational racquetball with her. marian shows her little glimpses of kindness and fondness that she doesn’t show too many people, and iris decides to think these are just more of marian showing off. sometimes marian will soften and iris is like “oh SHIT oh shit oh shit NOPE” and throws up her walls again and leaves and marian Gets it, she’s smart, she knows what’s going on, and that makes it okay, she tells herself. so they go back to their regular routine of bickering over marian’s counter for nearly an hour at a time... iris probably has her longest casual conversations with marian.

i’ve decided that if you don’t get together with either of them, you can help iris and vee get together... because they both really want love but restrain themselves from it for personal reasons (vee) or for pact reasons (iris). this can only happen if you choose to have iris not stay in her position, though. she has to either become the leader or quit.

if she ends up leaving the city, and if you’ve been with iris to vee’s shop at least three times, there’s a note that she leaves with vee in vee’s car. a grand roadtrip. it depends on other factors if it’s stated to be romantically or not.

cam and the widow are obviously the other couple... with the current roster marian and cora are the “spares” lmao. and they’re really not well-suited for each other.

but if you choose vee’s romance path, iris and marian will flirt with each other a bit more. or rather, marian will flirt, and you can walk in on them making out (which, again depending on Choices, will make iris Freak The Fuck Out, and you can promise not to tell or like... get iris in some trouble).
