Sorry for being dead I’ve been drawing monsters :]
Some concepts for a project I’ve been working on, think of it like persona + monster hunter + pokemon but if it was entirely set in the west coast. And has some funky critters running around

Uhhhh I made oc art and the colored pencils I used look bad..
day 4 of telemarina OCtober! iris sterling. she's pacted as the official messenger/diplomat/neutral party of the entente (the organizational congress of the magical community). her pact gives her useful utility powers - she can understand all languages, she’s immune to damage from any entente members, she has a supernatural sense of direction, she can tell when people are lying to her, she has some limited healing powers, and more) and she’s paid extremely well, but unfortunately the binding clauses of the pact keep her extremely isolated from basically everyone else to keep her as a neutral party, and it’s a job that entails a lot of emotional labor. pacts must give and take.
the player character has magic independent of any pact or coven, however (for plot reasons), so iris can hang out with her when she isn’t being kept busy with her job... iris is also a source of quests a lot of the time. she is romanceable!
how to win over your girlfriend all over again: spend two months making a 22x28 poster in colored pencil of her lesbian witch ocs, bestow it upon her on your two year anniversary, watch as she loses her ability to make eye contact with you or the gift for a full 10 minutes
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY @flovvright I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bonus photo and pic of me sketching miserably:
the companion characters in my oc universe, telemarina! it's written to be an rpg video game, so there's multiple endings etc. it’s an urban fantasy with some political conflict and dimensional solstices.
the first seven girls here are 1. all lesbians 2. all romanceable by the player character. the other four people are 1. not cis 2. your good friends!
back at it again with telemarina
1. i wanted to express that the widow has a genuine love for her study. see her eyes light up! this is towards the beginning of the game. i also wanted to establish that she truly is a prodigy and at the forefront at the modern magical study of death (was previously a taboo topic pre-vela). she makes headlines by discovering how much a human soul weighs.
2. moth mabily (for the most part) can only be seen by the protag. if you grow closer with them they grow very protective of you - empathic senses for a fey Favorite etc etc. who to trust. they know how courts run. they like to hover behind the protag's shoulder, and are a touchy friend. this doodle is from a route where the entente is less fond of the protag.
3. fsr it takes cora and the moth a long time to be in the same room - and oh! cora can see the moth too! psychic powers, although she's shocked that it's seeing rather than hearing. cora has any interest in the protag bc she saw them in a dreamscape at the beginning of the plot, so it makes sense that both of them are among the minority of people who can see the moth.
the moth can sing/hum little fey tunes that cool down cora's head, so she likes them a lot actually! that predisposes her to liking th eff m, and they drum up a nice rapport. she was just startled here lol. if the protag doesn't work for a strong friendship with the moth, they'll hang out with cora instead. the moth also gets along with rosé valentine pretty well. they don't like how the widow tends to smell like a corpse (especially as things progress with the deterioration of her body).
4. iris' role as the official neutral party of the city sees her navigating a lot of conflicts, so the risk of someone shooting the messenger is significant. in recent entente coven contract agreements there's been a clause to cover for the protection of her position. if anyone from the entente comes at her with the intent to harm, it goes right through her. can't be harmed! it only protects her from entente people because that's a pact that the magic can be tied to; to protect her from EVERYBODY would be a pact for her and it would be a very steep price. but if a little bit of that magic is cooked into everyone's entente contract, then it's little promises coming to make relatively very powerful protective magic.
in this doodle someone thought using a nonmagical attack (a gun) would work. nope! iris has worked to give a very unimpressed look when this activates as a power move. vee has never seen it before and is very concerned for her friend.......ly associate with whom she is entirely professional, of course
telemarina art from last night:
1. what are you doing bringing your passive psychic friend into fights, man, that’s not cool
2. breaking anti-favoritism rules (ref)
3. moth mabily has spider-bone hands and beetle-bright eyes
