11, 21, and 31 for ALL! ☺️
11. do they have any cyberware? is it cosmetic or is it weaponry/armor?
Valaire has a bad sight and therefore he needs the cyberware in his face. He also has cyberware lines on his upper body, those were given to him by Arasaka. Vic could reactivate their purpose via a private med server. All activities inside the body are scanned and analysed (yes, that too) and if necessary a signal will cause a body reaction like releasing hormones for example. He also has Kiroshi's which all V's have. After 2078 he also has a cyberarm on his left.
Vicco has more cyberware and replacements in his body than we could ever guess. He has Kiroshi's although I consider him by now as a non-V. Both his hands are cybernetics after Maelstrom destroyed every bone in them. He has a special skin (Which was payed by Valaire) around his hands (Dynalar) to let it feel like real skin, the same he has done for his face, to make it look flawless and perfect. His facial cyberware is to adjust his sight. The lip cyberware is either for defence or pleasure, which he can choose. So never try to forcefully kiss him, could be painful. His earcyberware is for replacement. Make a guess how it might have happened, because I would write down a few TW for that one.
Both Valaire and Vicco have monowire arms.
Veerle has only the cyberware on her neck, because she has problems since her childhood with sore and or inflammatory throat.
Veerle has a launcher in her arm.
21. do they have any favorite spots around NC?
For Valaire it is Kerry's bed! OK, seriously, Valaire loves any high platforms where he can look down on the city, preferred in silence.
For Vicco it is the "bladerunner roof" the nights he was able to sleep there, were the most peaceful and safe nights. As an adult he goes there to be alone, mostly with a lot of alcohol and cigarettes.
For Veerle it is Lizzies, it feels like home to her.
31. who are their closest chooms in NC?
For Valaire it is Jackie before the heist, he has known him for years. After that he finds a new friend in Mitch. Valaire feels guilty for Scorpions death and comes often to the badlands with some good bottles of beer. They sit together and have good talks. It happens after the Aldecaldos moved away from Night City that Mitch would call to have a chat. Mostly about their nightmares which are many of both sides.
If Vicco ever had a friend, it was Jackie.
Veerle was never a person to have many friends, sometimes she even had only herself to rely on. Judy is her LI and also her best friend.
🖊 + Princess Veerle!
Princess Veerle of Lyria and Rivia is Queen Meve’s daughter with Gascon Brossard (born after the events in Thronebreaker). For clarity, I’m considering Gascon to be at least in his mid-twenties at the beginning of Thronebreaker, looking at his character design and voice actor.
I haven’t really developed her too much, but she’s a direct response to every instance in fantasy movies/period dramas where some woman character says disparagingly: “no, I want adventure, I don’t want to sit around doing embroidery all day like those other meek women” because Veerle likes BOTH of those things. (And so do I, I’ve designed and sewn myself a bonnet and made several embroidered handkerchiefs and I’m thrilled at the idea of literally gutting someone.)
One of the things I’m still figuring out is whether Veerle’s parentage is publicly known (and there’s a whole scandal that comes with it) or if everyone just assume it’s Reynard that sired the newest Rivian and Lyrian princess, and I’d love some input on which would fit better. Veerle is headstrong but what’s nice about having the battle polycule (Meve/Reynard/Gascon) as her parents is that she’s actually allowed to engage in all the things she likes: swordplay, fox hunting, learning embroidery & weaving, and gardening. Here’s the art piece that first inspired me to make an OC who exists in the Thronebreaker continuity (also because I can’t pass up someone wearing a nice circlet).
Her relationship with her older brother Prince Anseis isn’t exactly strained, it’s more just distant, since he’s rarely around the palace, instead trying to live out his fantasy of being a brave knight despite having absolutely horrendous manners – I was hoping for a dialogue option in TW3 where Geralt could tell him off, all: “listen, highness, I know your mother, and we were out killing people together while you were still in short pants, speak with more respect before I spank you”
