My English class gave visual presentations on our argument topic for our final paper and most of them were about becoming a vegetarian or the mistreatment of animals in processing plants. The others were on ED's and the poor self image we have caused by the media and then another on genetically modified foods and all the harmful things it can do to you. I just have to say damn is their anything that is safe for us anymore? Our produce has pesticides and fish DNA in it and the disturbing images and discussion of how animals become food was appalling. Are we really that gross? Even when we think we are choosing good foods and trying to be healthy the peach you are eating was probably genetically enhanced to grow faster and bigger. It's ridiculous and I know I can't afford to eat completely organic (especially not at college) but I feel like we should really educate ourselves about what we put into our bodies in the future. It was just an awful class that made me feel guilty, fat, and stupid...ugh why can't it be summer yet?
